My Exalted game has died the death, since neither me or Ru were enthused enough to want to continue playing.
I think I learnt a couple of useful lessons - firstly, the whole derive the campaign from the characters' backgrounds only works with some players. Some people have learnt to create characters who are pretty much free floating, without any sort of driving conflict. The aim is, I think, to make characters who can fit well into any predetermined story, but it makes them worse at initiating stories themselves.
The game would have worked better if I'd had some sort of stronger setting for the first few sessions that drove things forward, but that would have put much tighter restrictions on the characters.
Tides, conversely, is going pretty well, except that I was so shattered I was almost falling asleep. I think fairly tightly concieved games seem to be working well for me at the moment, which is going to have to inform the Weapons of the Gods game that I might end up running after Christmas.
