What a... day.

Today has been One Of Those. Not one of those that is interesting to read about, but I'm gonna post about it anyway. It's my journal, after all. You have been warned. Nyaah.

One of my tasks at work today was to edit a translated document. We've got a contract to translate some documents - articles and the like - between English, Spanish, and Portugese. Where the original documents are not English, I go through it and smooth the writing so it doesn't sound stilted, as if it's written by a translator less than perfectly fluent in English. It's an interesting task, trying to edit a document without changing the meaning. I had to ask Maria, a bilingual coworker, about a few points of the original Spanish document. I hope they have me do more of these.

I'm not feeling very sick. My throat's still scratchy, but I no longer feel gross and lethargic. Yay.

No matter how much I gripe about MARTA, it puts Cobb Community Transit to shame. The CCT bus I catch from the office didn't come today, and the next one was 20 minutes late, meaning I waited an hour and 20 minutes for the bus while it was rainy, chilly, and darkening. As usual, calls to the bus line were met with lies - the bus broke down, it's coming, it'll be at your stop in 10 minutes, it was stuck in traffic, a relief bus is on the way - BULL. The bus simply did not come. I got home over an hour late, hungry and ticked off and tired. Was gonna get groceries on the way, but that didn't happen. Three cheers for leftovers and grilled cheese.

I haven't played DDR double-pad in about 2 years, so I got out my doubles setup - 2 pads zippered together - and spent some time there. I'm not bad, but I definitely need to sharpen up my footwork. Still, I did manage to get one FPC AAA, and I AAed a heavy 8. That's a DDRX 8, which is more like an easy 7 in other games. It was fun, and perfect since I was too tired to sweat bullets.

ddr doubles, cct, work, ddr, commute, sick
