Soldier Down! Soldier Down!

Overnight, totoro79, redevilica and I became Nick Carter fangirls all over again. That was one helluva weekend. A much needed vacation, even if it was just one weekend. The funny thing was, when we bought our concert tickets AND airline tickets, we didn't even realize that it was a long weekend. It was totally perfect.

The show didn't even COMPARE to the 2007 one in Jakarta, in which we had sucky seats, surrounded by sucky Indonesian concert crowd. And yet even back then I was singing praises for such a great show. Imagine how FUCKING AWESOME it was last weekend:

Fourth frakking row, baby!

And of course, GREAT CONCERT CROWD. Even though it did got a little bit disorganized, fans getting out of their seats and running to stick themselves to the stage railing, but hey, it actually works to our advantage so we could get even CLOSER to the stage. No complaints from me. We were SO CLOSE we didn't need optical enhancements, but still, redevilica's 10x zoom Lumix is a magical wonder that produced seriously gorgeous, GORGEOUS photos.

( See the photos over at redevilica 's journal )

Most of all, it was the three of us. Together. Going nuts. In 2007, totoro79 was missing. This was so perfect. One whole weekend, just the three of us, sharing bathrooms and giggling all night long. I didn't want the weekend to end. I've come to a conclusion that sometime in the future, we should just move in to one big house and grow old together xD

Biggest shock of the night: AJ MCLEAN IS BALDING. Wait, he's not even balding anymore, he's ALREADY BALD. WTF? I didn't remember him to be even remotely balding in 2007? Was he? :O

In a short span of less than 2 hours, they packed almost all of their old classics, enhanced with the catchy tunes from their new album, This Is Us, released just late last year. It was a very condensed high-impact high-energy show. Less talk, more songs, but they still interacted A LOT with the audience through songplays and eye contact. Everybody. Shape of My Heart. The Call. More Than That. As Long As You Love Me. Quit Playing Games With My Heart. The One. Show Me The Meaning. I'll Never Break Your Heart. We've Got It Goin On. Larger Than Life. I Want It That Way (they saved THE BEST for last). New songs: PDA, Undone, Bye Bye Love, Bigger, Straight Through The Heart, All Of Your Life. This Is Us. They sang Bigger especially for the fans who has stuck with them for 17 long years. As the lyrics say: "But you don't care, you keep sticking around... you're still here, your feet stuck to the ground, despite how silly it sounds, you're bigger than me." Crowd was singing along to EVERY SINGLE SONG, dancing, jumping, waving, it was SO great. They sounded GREAT. They looked GREAT. It was magical.

And NICK CARTER. Oh, Nick Carter. The baby of the Backstreet Boys is now a 30-year-old, but still gorgeous as ever. He has lost all that fat from previous years, and emerged nice and lean, perfectly toned upper body, and made us fans of his tats. Nick Carter shot us STRAIGHT THROUGH OUR HEART. SOLDIER DOWN. SOLDIER DOWN.

They said they're coming back to Singapore next year. I'll be holding on to those words. I'm SO there. Thanks for a crazy awesome show, Backstreet Boys. We'll see you again next year! We love you!
