Ding Dong The Terrorist Is Dead~♪
I was trying to post about this yesterday but apparently that craptastic DDoS attack made me unable to post onto LiveJournal.
Several TV news networks have been telecasting a LIVE BROADCAST of a terrorist raid in Central Java since late last night. Yes, you read right.
LIVE BROADCAST.
Am I like the only person who is raising an eyebrow at just how WTF this is? Where else in the whole world is a terrorist raid covered in a live broadcast on TV? ONLY IN INDONESIA! I guess terrorist raids in Indonesia is NOT SO COVERT after all, eh?
It just seems to me that when it comes to Indonesian media, all sorts of standard ethics of media conduct goes out the window completely. I still can't believe that they put on the images of the SEVERED HEAD of a suspected suicide bomber on TV, and now suddenly they do this. Telecasting a terrorist raid through LIVE BROADCAST.
I got up late today and when I turned on the TV I saw that the alleged terrorist (Noordin M. Top) whom our police force had been chasing is already DEAD? How can they be so sure? The media are covering from a FAR DISTANCE and the police haven't even issued out ANY statements. How is it that they are able to release what seems to be a very premature statement about the outcome of such a covert mission?
I don't get the mentality of Indonesian media, seriously. Yes, I do think it is their obligation to deliver informative news to the public, but I also do believe the media has a very CRUCIAL RESPONSIBILITY in delivering said informative news in the most appropriate manner that isn't going to jeopardize National security, no?
And after the raid was finished, the villagers and townspeople immediately swarmed the so-called terrorist safehouse. Hello? There might be some undetonated bombs hidden in there still? Do these people have no fear? Or maybe they just have no brain?
The things Indonesians do never cease to amaze me. Seriously.
