"The same knife that can be used to kill can be used to cut an apple in half and share with a person."

My first aikido class today. Kind of intimidating because we're already working with partners. But I'm glad I was working with Sophie, who is the only girl I know in that class. She was on one of the pre-frosh trips, so I know her from talking on the bus. She's a sophomore, and she was in uniform so I have a feeling she's been doing this for a while. She was very helpful and reassured me that I shouldn't worry about hurting her when we do the grabbing of the hands and twisting and such. (I don't know what anything's called yet, its not in English. But it went well, and I'm going to practice what I've learned and go to open mat on Saturday, I think it is. Hopefully Sophie will be there, because she is really helpful.

Dressed as a pirate right now. At least...the best I can considering I didn't bring any pirate stuff besides my pirate t-shirt. Too bad I missed going to dinner with my floor. Oh well. There will be plenty of more opportunities to dress up. Jank and I have so many ideas for parties on our floor this hear. Yay for being on Hall Community Board. Our favorite is the decade dance, where each hour will be a new decade, and you can come dressed as your favorite decade. I love this school. Everyone gets so into the weirdest things. Its fantastic. I love it here!!
