Just So You Know

People have such huge misconceptions about homeschooling because they might know someone who lives like a shut in and doesn't allow their child to socialize at all. Public school can be horrible if it's a shitty school. I went to private/catholic school most of my life and I feel that only one out of the three that I went to was worth while. Education is also not only all about what you learn in books. If you are a parent that is able to take your child out of the classroom and show them the world as it is, not just from pictures in a book then it is an asset to your child. I've known quite a few college educated people that don't know as much as my friend who only did like 3 months of outside schooling in his whole life. He can pick up any books or learn any career in what seems like a ridiculously short amount of time. He learned to think outside of the box. He's well rounded despite not having a conventional education.

I'm not saying it's for everyone but homeschooling does work out for those who do it properly. If conventional schools were so grand and perfect every student that left it's gates would have a fabulous career, vast knowledge and a great life. You know you've met a few people with diplomas up the ass and they are as smart as a ding dong. It's all uncertain.

I'm just sick of people being down on homeschooling when schools are filled with mediocre teachers some of who are just predators looking to get frisky with students, pimp their MySpace porn pics or ignore their students all together while they wait for their paycheck and summer vacation. You hear about more and more teachers in the news doing whacked out shite. But that's for another blog all together.

Homeschooling is not the enemy, just the alternative. And it's a good one.
