Turns Out It's True

So I've seen the whole square watermelon thing for a while and have been thinking that it was just some photoshopped nonsense. Who knew it was actually real. Nippon knows how to invent some real novel shite.

According to Snoopes:
Smart Japanese farmers have forced their watermelons to grow in square shape by inserting the melons into a square tempered glass cases while the fruit is still grown in the vine.

Simple smart idea. No more rolling fruit while you are trying to cut into it. I think they should venture out though. Square apples. Square pumpkins. Square bananas. Square cows.

news, weird
