Serpent Rising
The body, the mind, the spirit,
It lies on the dirt before us,
The history of our blood hungry kind,
Destruction, It leads us, it guides us.
In my eyes see the spark,
See the fire,
In my mind the storms raging,
You're falling, The pain's overwhelming,
Smoke rising, Ashes left behind.
This is the land you seek,
This is the world you lead,
This is what you reap,
Now so shall you sew.
In the mind you can find the truth,
Each circuit aligned, You've barely scratched the surface,
Faces bending in light, Mind swallowed by night,
And there we find the truth,
Bound in all of these lies.
We are scarred,
We are broken,
We are alone,
We are afraid,
We know no end,
We see no beginning,
It's all a dream we're not really living.
Now in the darkness we lie,
Staring at the burning sky,
The serpent hung there above,
Our bodies covered in sweat,
I heard the terror of a million minds,
All sreaming at the same instant,
This is where we stand at the brink of madness.
You've hung your sanity at the door,
You've pledged your spirit to the blind,
It's an illusion that we all share,
That the insitution actually cares,
Now we're breaking apart,
Our minds are melting down,
We've seen the degridation of society,
We know of it's demise, We live in the death throes.
