Hey all, I'm back finally! Sam and I took an extra couple of days to do a leisurely drive up the California and Oregon coasts, because the more-or-less straight shot on the way down almost killed us. It may have taken three times as long, but holy hell, it sure beat the pants off doing 18+ hours in one sitting.
But anyhoo, Celebration IV was freaking awesome beyond awesome! I'll be doing a more in-depth post later once I sort through the four-hundred-some-odd pictures I took, but here's a quick run-down of some of the things I saw/did:
- Saw tons of cool exhibits, props, costumes, artwork, and toys.
- Attended some truly kick-ass panels, including one on the art of Ralph MacQuarrie and another on the Holocron, the huge information database used by Lucas Licensing to maintain continuity within the Star Wars universe.
- Listened to Seth MacFarlane, Seth Green, and the writers of Robot Chicken plug the upcoming Star Wars episodes of their respective shows.
- Sat in on An Hour with Anthony Daniels and listened to him and Jay Laga'aia (Captain Typho) reminisce about the movies.
- Caught the hilariously brilliant "One Man Star Wars Trilogy" (you rule, Charles Ross!) and the brilliantly hilarious "Star Wars in 30 Minutes."
- Spent a good chunk of my graduation money on exclusive merchandise and overpriced convention center food.
Honestly, I can't even begin to put into words how much fun I had. Suffice it to say that Star Wars fans are some of the nicest, coolest, and funniest people you will ever meet.
