BaCC Week 2: The White Family

Jul 24, 2011 13:23

Last update for Wallis and June only documented them moving in together. Now it's time for their proper update :)

And their second week starts with Wallis talking to his trees.

Wallis: Sunshine... rain... it's all good for you trees, right? You live off of rain alone, literally! Well, and sunshine. And air. ...aaand good soil. But still! I really don't think tasty fruit is such a big deal to ask of you.

Wallis: I mean, it's up to me to provide the community with high quality crops, you know? And, I'd be really bummed if I couldn't do that, yeah? So just, you know, give me some smashing lemons, dearie.

Wallis: Maybe... maybe they'll even chase us out of town if we can't provide! I don't mean to burden you, but come on. Would you really have that on your conscience..?

Yep. Just as crazy as it sounds.

Then one night...

They couldn't afford a ladybyg house. Wallis had truth be told heard of the dangers of pesticide, and chosen to ignore them, but he certainly hadn't seen this coming.

Wallis: My hair! What happened to my hair!

Wallis: And my clothes! And skin! Oh my word.

It was with worry crinkling his brow that he went to find June. And some proper clothes...

New and exciting are still June's favourite words however, so Wallis could lay those small worries in the back of his mind to rest.

June: Your skin! It's so... soft and... leaflike! It's like being with a huge flower! I like flowers...

June: What do you say we explore your new body? Maybe there are exciting new... additions.

The next few days is spent getting used to his new form. He hadn't liked it at first, but soon discovers that for some reason, life is a lot easier now. He doesn't crave food anymore for example, only water - and it doesn't matter in what form. He can drink it, bathe in it, stand in the rain letting it soak into his skin - it's all good. He's more connected to his plants than he ever were.

And he can make sims strangely blissful, by just shaking his head. That's one of his favourite new things about himself.

Additions did have to be made around the house though, to accomodate Wallis' condition. He will quickly start to feel woozy and tired for seemingly no good reason. No amount of water helps. Nights are particularily draining.

Josephine had heard of other plantsims before Wallis, in her days as a scientist, and knew what Wallis needed. After a trip into town, she gifted him a strange new lamp, that seemed to fill his body with life. Now he sits happily on the sofa skilling, talking to June, or just contemplating his new life.

When they're not having parties, of course.

After Peggy opened her flower shop, a lot of new faces has started showing up around the little community. They are mostly nature loving sims, who have heard of the settlement way out in the outskirts of Sim Nation, and wants to see it for themselves. The commute is long from Sim City, which is the closest town, but that doesn't stop people from showing up, setting up camp, and going out to meet the families. Wallis and June being the friendly and open sims they are, readily invites others in, having small townie-parties all the time.

Some of the newcomers are a bit more outlandish than the rest though...

Lately, June has been feeling a bit restless. With everyone in town having something meaningful to do, she's started to feel her days are sorta ... dull. But June isn't very fond of hard work. Toiling over books or machinery or crops isn't for her. She thought long and hard about what she wanted to do, and during a conversation with one of the campers around town, she got the idea. She would try to make money gaming. She loves gaming anyway, so why not? The camper agreed to take her into town, so she could find some secondhand electronics to get her started, and soon, everything was ready.

She has taken to her new profession with great enthusiasm.

June: TAKE THAT ASSHAT!
Wallis: June! Language!
June: Whaaat, he cut me off, I had to retaliate! And, like, trash talking is every beginner's perogative!
Wallis: Were you yelling at the screen..?
June: Yeah, I yelled at the screen, so what? You talk to plants.
Wallis: Humph!

Life does have its quiet moments though, even for social butterflies like June and Wallis.

June: I still don't understand how painting helps my gaming... :(

Wallis has found an even deeper love for plants than he already had.

Wallis: They love me! They really do! ...or... do they? Must check again D:

He does the Plants love me?-thing ALL. THE. TIME. Arrg.

Most sims are absolutely thrilled and fascinated by Wallis' new form, and love talking to him about it, and finding out everything they can. Others... not so much.

Blondie: Boy howdy, you sure are one green weirdo! You look like a frickin' plant. How sick is that!

Wallis isn't one to let himself get teased and bullied around however.

Wallis: You wanna see green? I'll show you green.
Blondie: What, you gonna show me some sort of weird plant trick, plant man? Huh? You gonna spurt out some flowers or something? Haha!
Wallis: Something like that...

Blondie: Hey, what. What are you doing you weirdo!? That itches! Cut it out freak!

Blondie: Oh I'll get you for that, you plant freak! Take that!

I was sort of hoping they'd become enemies, so that a position in Law would open up, but alas... Wallis loves pranking, but he loves making friends too.

Wallis: Yeah, so the poking and stuff is all good, but listen - I have THREE BFFs! How about that huh! Will you be my BFF too?
Blondie: *extremehaterage*

Blondie then left before I could... influence things further. No opening in Law this time round then.

At the end of the week I caved. I had kinda made up my mind that they wouldn't have to have babies unless they wanted to, or accidentially got pregnant through risky woohoo, but... I just had to see Wallis' genetics in a plantbaby. Besides - they grow up reaaally quickly, which means there won't be much hassle, right? So I just went ahead and clicked Spawn...

You'll have to wait until the next round to see how the wee sproglet turned out though, cause I'm mean like that... :)
