Viz Media has added official websites for two anime series that they
licensed a long time ago but are only now just starting to release- shoujo series "Honey & Clover" & "Nana." However, the really interesting part is that the pages for both series list streaming options in their Products section (along with manga, DVD, DTO (Download-to-Own), & Goods). So more than likely, Viz is setting things up so that we can watch both of these series for free online. Sweet! FUNimation had previously announced that both these titles, along with several other new Viz anime series, would be airing on their anime channel. Considering most of America doesn't get Funi's channel, this streaming option is welcome news indeed.
While both these series may be under Viz's Shojo Beat lineup, believe me when I tell you these are both excellent series. I've seen both & love both. I've been told by female fans of Nana that they believe Nana to be too girly to get a mass male audience, though I've certainly enjoyed it enough to continue the story by buying the English manga where the anime left off. Honey & Clover, on the other hand, I feel is much more enjoyable by everyone. It's a soft series, but it's so good & so touching I don't see how anyone who's watched it cannot like it. Check out the new official English dub trailer for Honey/Clover above, then see the Nana one below:
