Saimoe 08: Round 1F, Day 1
Oh come on, Karen loses too?! Unfortunately so, but she was up against some very tough competition. In the end though, the kings of moe- Kyoto Animation- won this battle. Nagisa Furukawa of "CLANNAD" beat out both Karen Kousuki (Code Geass R2) & Kanata Izumi (Lucky Star). I guess the voters thought one Konata was enough for Saimoe too.
Another "Lucky Star" lost pretty badly too. Nanako Kuroi, along with Mawari Zenigata (Seto no Hanayome), lost to the popular "Sketchbook ~full color’s~" character Sora Kajiwara. Sorry, Kuroi-sensei, but this is a tournament for youthful girls only! =b
Finally for "Hayate the Combat Butler!" fans, the glasses-wearing character Saki Kijima won her round. She beat out another character familiar to our viewers, Maka Alban of “Soul Eater." Sae of "Hidamari Sketch" lost to Saki as well. I was actually routing for Maka, but I guess she's really all that moe now is she.
SHE enters the tournament tomorrow. That's right, the Vocaloid goddess herself, Miku Hatsune. I originally predicted that she'd win the whole tournament, but considering that both Haruhi & Rei already lost, it seems the voters this year seem to largely be anti hugely-popular-characters. Miku just may suffer the same fate. Either that or she'll cream everyone, so we'll see. On top of that though, she's also going up against a Nanoha girl. & from what I can tell, it's one of the more popular ones at that. Guess we'll have to wait & see how this goes. Also, Natsuki from Mai-Otome is back in Saimoe once again! She's going up against a fan-favorite loli from Moetan though, so we'll see how that goes as well.
