Japan Adopts Naruto's "Believe It"

Popular Japanese clothing company Uniqlo has started producing a line of fashionable Naruto t-shirts. Most of them are pretty cool looking & trendy, & they're being sold for a reasonably low cost of only 1500 yen (~$18). While there are a number of neat looking designs, one in particular stands out above the rest.

You see, one of these shirts- these exclusive to Japan shirts, mind you- has in giant text on the front the words "Believe It." Yes, dub Naruto's horrible catchphrase "believe it" has been adopted & re-imported back to Japan.

"Believe it" was supposed to be the English adaptation of Naruto's often-said "dattebayo," which really doesn't translate to anything in English. Nonetheless, it was felt necessary for the young ninja to say SOMETHING in place of it. & so "believe it" was born, & it was used in tons of marketing & merchandise for Naruto in the US. & even though the dub mostly stopped using the catchphrase after the first season, the slogan continued to appear on t-shirts & bedsheets everywhere for sometime.

It finally appeared to disappear once Shippuden began here, but now Japan seems keen on using it themselves. It's a unique kinda cool, I'm sure. & only something that a non English speaking person would think would be cool to wear.
