From the country that brought us the first robot masseur, robot girlfriend, robot maid, robot karate fighter, & robot prime minister greeter comes yet another first.

A very special wedding ceremony was held last month in Tokyo, as a humanoid robot was the one conducting it. Called the I-Fairy, the four-foot tall robot was able to join the newlywed couple Satoko Inoue & Tomohiro Shibata in marriage. I-Fairy remained seated throughout the the wedding, but was able to fully speak. It also featured flashing eyes, plastic pigtails, & wore a wreath of flowers on its head.
