Warner Gets Live-Action Bleach Movie

Warner Bros seems to be on a role when it comes to acquiring the rights to anime & manga about shinigami. First they got Death Note, & now the studio is in talks to make a live-action film for Bleach. When you include that they're also working on the Akira movie, then WB is turning out to be quite the anime adaptation studio for American films.

Warner Bros so far only said that they're "in the process" of acquiring the rights to a Bleach movie, though they are deeply interested in getting it. Peter Segal, who previously directed films such as "Get Smart" & "50 Firs Dates," has already signed up to produce the feature (not direct it) & is really pushing for it. If this really does wind up happening, then Viz Media will also serve in producing the film, so we can at least count on it staying somewhat true to the original version. Just as long as it's not another DragonBall Evolution.
