Midnight : Start of the Tour de Fleece I began splitting the fibre up at 11:45pm, tearing first roughly in half so I had enough for two singles, then each half into random strips slightly drafting as I went along. By 2:25am I had finished spinning the first single. This surprised me greatly but then I remembered that all the yarns I have spun before this one over the past year except one have been well over 250g each so now spinning around 110g split in two, well it went super fast. I took five breaks in between spinning the first single to stretch my legs and take the weight off my tailbone which was horribly tender tonight. Feeling quite proud to be able to take part in the tdf properly this year as this time last year I couldnt even sit up for five minutes without wanting to scream in agony and asking for help to pull me up off my poor broken tailbone.
5:30pm, been watching a film on and off this afternoon whilst spinning the second single. Its all now finished ready for plying which will be tomorrow now as I have just enough energy left to cook dinner then will pass out in bed I think. Feel excited about this one though, and well proud of myself for this first day, it was a good effort.
