Happy 15th Birthday to our Beautiful Young Special Lady
Angelica
so so so so proud of you and so blessed with you in our world15 years ago today a special young ray of sunshine and happiness was born whilst I was sitting on a pink armchair in the waiting room of the maternity ward at Kings College Hospital, London at 9:56am. I had started to feel really strong pains after a night of inactivity, I spotted a nurse walking along the corridor pulling a gas cylinder behind her, I called out from the waiting room for help, she came running along to me, I grabbed the mask attached to the gas asking her to turn it on, she said she needed to go get a midwife, ok I said but hurry because this baby isnt waiting, a midwife came in to the waiting area which was packed with people I must add, she looked at me gasping through contractions without any significant gaps in between, said to give me the gas whilst she went to see if a bed was ready for me yet, I started to lean backwards body pushing by itself, two midwifes spotted this scene of me sucking on the gas pressing the mask tightly against my face, one shouted that it was too late and the other one tipped the chair back, first one shouting she could see the head, I gave a loud cough almost vomiting from the gas and out Angelica flew into the world, it was a very magical moment, the midwife in front of me barely unfolded a sterile green cloth to catch her in, she sort of grasped the baby and threw her on to my stomach otherwise she would have hit the floor. People were still all in the waiting room so there was an audience who all clapped and cheered. True labour lasted only a matter of twenty minutes or so then out she popped!
As a baby Angelica was perfect, clung to me all the time, breastfed like a trooper and has seldom left my side. We all used to call her "the gap girl" because where ever I sat, she would squash herself in the smallest of gaps to sit beside me.
Over the years we have watched her grow into a stunning young lady, proud and strong in every way, knows her own mind and can formulate opinions and make appropriate choices. We really couldnt ask for more from one of our children, Angelica makes us proud each and every day, several times a day.
Happy Birthday special one, really hope you have a brilliant day today
