Whilst sorting through my craft baskets and boxes yesterday I could not pack away my handspun yarns just yet, I kept thinking in the back of my mind that at least one project should travel with me in my oversized maxi handbag in the car, I already know I want to do a tunic style loose around the bottom top for myself but have only sketched and made rough notes on the design so far. I have the large 120 peg 1/2 inch gauge loom which is about the same gauge as a size 5.5mm knitting needles so in between packing boxes from the kitchen base units today I sat down with a cup of tea and started searching for inspiration.
I have just fallen in love with the shape of the
Avant Garde Tunic by Helen Hamann its absolutely perfect, the pattern goes up to a size 48 inch bust, I recently have gone from a size 62 to a 52 with more weight falling off me daily so I think I will be able to make this one for myself using my handspun.
Helen's Website
http://helenhamann.com/ is filled of inspiration and other knits which I just love. Now I am stuck between I cant sit for very long, hadnt planned on doing more than one yarn for the duration of the Tour de Fleece which starts tomorrow, but now I want all my green fluffy fibre spun into yarn so I can get started with another knitted top. Lots to look forward to instead once we are settled, I refuse to touch my beloved Julius (spinning wheel) when I am highly stressed in case I break something so am furiously packing boxes instead.
