Winter finally gave up for a few hours yesterday. I took myself out for a picknick after work - fresh roasted garlic bread, cheese, granny smith apples, and a new kite at the grounds of the Indianapolis Art Museum. It's been one of my absolute favorite places for the last eight years, and I'm fortunate it's within a few miles of my house.
The poor flowers aren't making a particularly good showing this year, being frostbitten and fried from the ugly weather of the last two weeks. But there IS alot of greenery, and the lawn is lush. I found a hawthorne tree and a tree dotted with appleblossoms, and had Marian Heatherdale's song stuck in my head for a while.
