What I think was going on at the end of Hemlock Grove

So is anyone else in this fandom because o m f g. I started watching it to fill the glee void and now I desperately need something to fill the sad sad gaping hole in my heart that was caused by the season finale of Hemlock Grove. But on Tumblr I noticed there wasn't a lot of coherent theories as to what was going on there at the end and I was frankly surprised. So here's what I thought of.

Spoilers…obviously

It’s kind of going to be a mess so let’s start with Olivia/Young Olivia. I’ve heard some people say that maybe it was Olivia in the ouroboros chamber because the whatever it was had blue eyes. Just like young Olivia had blue eyes. I don’t think this is the case. One, Pryce hated Olivia and I don’t see him doing her any favors. Especially if you remember that she didn’t actually know what Ouroboros was, or any of Pryce’s experiments. Two, Lynda said that Upir (or maybe it was Destiny) can’t hide what they are in their eyes. Hence the drops. Well Young Olivia had blue eyes but the Olivia we know, the one taking the drops, has brown eyes. I think it’s the drops. Like maybe the Upir have dead looking eyes. The Upir from Niccoli’s flashback story thing had light blue eyes as well. Just like Roman.

So I don’t think the eye color of the Ouroboros person was a marker for Olivia. Second, Pryce very obviously loves Shelly. He wants her to be alive and well. And during their appointment he makes it a point to sort of tease her about a project he’s doing with the plants. The ones that look real and smell real in every sense but actually are artificial. Like a human body grow in a chamber. I think Ouroboros was Pryce making a body for Shelly. Especially since she referenced “Today I have seen the dragon" without an ounce of fear like when everyone else said it. I think she knew Ouroboros was Pryce’s project for her and she just didn’t know the full extent.

Third, when Pryce was talking about his first research paper he mentioned it was about reincarnation. Reincarnation. Not just resuscitating a dead body. Reincarnation means a whole new body. So I think the plan was originally to kill Shelly in the lab, like stopping her heart, so that her “soul" could transfer over to the Ouroboros body.

Fourth, when Roman told himself to see Shelly he said he saw white light. Just like in the chamber. Plus he saw her a few times looking completely normal. And Peter did that one time two. Not saying that they can see the future but it’s obvious that Peter at least can see signs, like the magazine thing before the baby was born. I think Shelly’s coming to them in the body she’ll have once the chamber is opened.

And maybe the reason Roman can’t find Shelly with Destiny is because he’s focusing on her as she was. Or maybe because her body is different. But it’s entirely possible too that she went to Godfrey tower. Pryce didn’t seem too upset over Shelly getting shot and becoming a scapegoat. And I think it’s because once she has her new body no one is going to recognize her so that solves that.
