I am not meant for this planet.

No, really, I am not meant to survive on this planet.

Over the past couple of weeks, I have been getting allergy tested, it is one of the benefits of working in the office in which I work.  For those of you who have never been tested for pollen and the like, let me describe it for you.  First, you are pricked with needles laced with concentrated liquids contaning specific allergens.  The needles put the liquid just below the skin, enough to get a reaction.  If you get itchy, red, and get a bump, then you are allergic to that particular item.

Well.

Then whole weed and tree pollen series on my right arm pretty much exploded.  Doc C was worried about me and told me that part two was not happening in that same week.  So, a week goes by and we do the food series.  I am allegic to SOY, people!  Is that not supposed to be the most harmless thing on this earth?  Ok, so, when the trees and weeds bloom in the spring, my body tries to die to relieve itself from the torture. Got it.

Since I developed most of these allergies since the last time I was ever stung by a bee, I thought it wise to get venum testing.

Well.

I reacted to every nasty stinging insect out there except the honey bee, and even that in enough doses would have gotten a reaction out of me.

I am not meant to live on this planet!  Every sping my life is in grave danger!

So, I discussed all of this with Doc C and he says that I need to start allergy and venom shots.  Thursday.  Yikes.  How many?

Doc, how many?

NINE?!

I am going to be getting six shots twice a week and three shots of the most serious venoms to which I reacted.

And they need to slowly build up my body's resistence to the venom in three series of three shots, so that means I am getting 15 on Thursday.  FIFTEEN NEEDLES IN MY ARM.

Once that is over in a month, then I will go down to just getting 15 weekly.

I am going to be a pin coushion.

health, needles, shots
