I just got back from the hospital with Mom.
Uncle Tommy is in the hospital again. Liver might be overworking. Bad.
We got there and my aunt and cousin were there with him. He did not look like he needed to be in that bed, he looked as well as I had seen him in a long time, even better than when we all had gone to Gettysburg, but it was how things were looking on the inside that put him there with tubes hooked up to his body.
James, his eldest son showed up about ten minutes after Mom and I had arrived. It was under terrbile circumstances, but I was happy to see him. James and I practically grew up together until we hit high school, then our lives became very different. I always enjoyed spending time with him as kids -- I was a tomboy and it was fun to play with guys, they were more my speed, and not much has changed. The three of us went downstairs for dinner because neither James nor I had eaten a decent meal since breakfast, and we had a good time. Dylan had come on the trip to Gettysburg, so he and I formed our own little bond despite the age difference which is something like 8 years. I should really know that for sure, shouldn't I? Dylan recommended the burgers, and I could not help but think that he should not know what is good and what isn't in a hospital cefeteria. Alas, he had spend enough time there to know, despite what I feel is right.
By the time we left, Uncle Tommy still had not received the blood he needed, but he wanted to rest so we headed off. He should be out on Sunday.
Good thoughts, prayers, and vibes for him and his family? They need them.
On a much more trivial note, I went to Suscom and traded in the tempermental cable modem for one that is, hopefully, more consistent. Hurray for one less annoyance in life.
Today is Friday. I adore you, weekend.
Oh, I made the wise decision to say yes to doing an overnight Sunday night. 5pm-1am. I hope to be home and in bed by 2. HOPE. We shall see how we do. At least that means Monday off! :D
The floors are getting done next week. It may turn into a nightmare.
