» Can I join ncis_vids?
Yes. The community has an open membership. Everyone can and is welcome to join. Of course, to do so, you have to have a LiveJournal account.
» I want to post my vid. How should I go about it?
Make sure that you follow the steps detailed below:
1. Give a title to your entry, something descriptive enough that people can have an idea of what to expect at first glance.
Example: Title, by ljuser (pairing)
2. Introduce your vid using a comprehensive template: title, vidder, music, pairing, spoilers, plot, etc. Feel free to use the template below if you wish.
Title: Your Title
Vidder: Your name
Music: Title, Band
Pairing: Your pairing if any
Rating: Rating if needed
Spoilers: Spoiler warning
Plot: Plot
Notes: Vidder's notes
3. Post your entry
4. Tag your entry by clicking on the tag link and selecting the appropriate tags within the list. See also, how do I tag my entry?
» How do I tag my entry?
You need to tag your entry with 2 categories of tags: the 'feat.' tag, and the 'with' tag, always.
1. The 'feat.' tag is the tag for the characters featuring in your video. Examples:
feat. abigail sciuto
feat. anthony dinozzo
feat. caitlin todd
etc...
You only need to select the tags of the characters on whom your vid focuses. If you made an Abby and Jethro video for instance, and that Tim and Tony appear in passing here and there, you don't need to tag your entry with the Tim and Tony tags; the Abby and Jethro tags are enough.
2. The 'with' tag is the relationship tag:
with no pairing ---> for gen videos
and then, there are the pairing-specific tags (friendship or more):
with abby/jethro
with tim/tony
with jethro/ziva
etc...
1+2. Examples: If you made a Tim/Tony video, your tags will be: feat. anthony dinozzo, feat. timothy mcgee, with tim/tony.
If you made a Ziva/Jethro and Abby/Jethro vid, your tags will be: feat. abigail sciuto, feat. leroy jethro gibbs, feat. ziva david, with abby/jethro, with ziva/jethro.
If you made a gen video focusing onTim, Tony, Ziva and Gibbs, your tags will be: feat. anthony dinozzo, feat. leroy jethro gibbs, feat. timothy mcgee, feat. ziva david, with no pairing.
