2.02 The Good Wives Club

Jul 20, 2007 08:35

Tony calls McGee ‘probie’ six times in this ep. I think that’s a record. And I think, at this point, that Tony is cementing his (and McGee’s) position on the team. He may claim that he’s not worried about McGee taking his place, but actions speak louder, and all that.

Despite the fact that this case creeped me out, there were quite a few things that tickled me, like this, Gibbs: A little bit more left. (McGee moves camera) Your other left, McGee., and this, Gibbs: He’s cautious. Abby: So am I, when I chain guys up., and Kate wanting to put Tony in the wedding dress. Good thing he was out on an interview or I think Gibbs might have let her. *g*

So clearly Tony and Kate have experimented with marijuana, and McGee never inhaled. For someone as...uptight as Kate, they sure do give her some interesting facets, don’t they? I mean, her tattoo is the least of it. Now we find out she experimented with marijuana and remember the Spring Break photo? If not, we’ll be getting to that soon. *g*

I like that Gibbs not only read Tony’s Baltimore service file before hiring him, he still remembers it. Gibbs is a man who pays attention to detail.

I’m imagining Tony in an ascot. And nothing else. *g*

Sometimes Tony really makes me wonder about him. Tony: You know, except for the murder and abduction part, I kinda think this guy’s onto something.

The shoulder holster again. *sigh* (Okay, maybe the ascot and the shoulder holster, but nothing else! *g*)

Ozzie and Harriet and Nelson Eddie. What happened to Tony’s claim to Abby that he only likes shows from this century when she referenced, um, I can't remember what she referenced, back in 1.12 My Other Left Foot? (A little digging through my recycle pile and I found my notes, upon which I had written these down, but then never typed them in. Huh. Petticoat Junction, which ran 1963-1970 and Green Acres, which ran 1965-1971, which were actually later than The Adventures of Ozzie and Harriet which ran from 1952-1966.)

Hee, McGee sold his settee at a garage sale last year! I’m not sure why, but I adore that little bit of information.

And Tony gets injured yet again! I’m going to have to start keeping track of injuries. *g*

Interesting bit of trivia probably only if you’re me: I’m pretty anal about my note-taking, so I even keep track of the vehicles they drive (Intrepid) and the license plate numbers. In this ep, I paused, I zoomed, and it looked like hieroglyphs or something! Then I recognized one of the ‘letters’ as a backwards ‘7' and realized that they’d inverted the photo, so the license plate was backwards. *g*

(After Gibbs introduces them with Kate first, then McGee, and Tony last)
Kate: Well, ‘cause I don’t think it has anything to do with seniority.
Tony: What do you think it has to do with?
Kate: Well, my guess would be level of intelligence and general competence.

Gibbs: A little bit more left. (McGee moves camera) Your other left, McGee.

McGee: Since I’ve always been interested in women, I figured the best way to know about them was to, you know...know about them.
Tony: McGee, the best way to know about them, is to know them.

Ducky: Is your recorder on?
Palmer: Do you want it to be on?
Ducky: No, do you want it on?
Palmer: Well, it helps me to be more accurate in my report.
Ducky: Well, then, turn it on.
Palmer: It is on.
Ducky: Then why didn’t you just say so?
Palmer: I’m, uh, not sure.

Gibbs: He’s cautious.
Abby: So am I, when I chain guys up.

Gibbs: Put someone in the wedding dress.
Kate: Tony would look cute.

Kate (to Gibbs): Well what about you? You won’t have to wear the dress.

McGee: Tony, I’m not after your job.
Tony: You think I’m actually worried about you taking my place, probie?

Gibbs: This is going to be useful, Abby, why?
Abby: Gibbs, I know you know that I need a good wind up before I deliver my knockout.
Gibbs: Just hit me with it, baby.

Abby (to Gibbs): Very Silence of the Lambs, don’t you think?

Kate: Hungry again, Tony?

Tony: Claims he was growing for his own personal use.
Gibbs: What do you think?
Tony: Well, there’s over 200 plants, boss, gotta think he’s spreading the love, and I’m pretty sure Daryl’s cutting into his profit margin.

Tony: Let me guess, you never inhaled.
McGee: I inhaled.
Tony: Yeah?
McGee: Yeah, once. A little bit.
Tony: How was it?
McGee: I didn’t like it.
Kate: You didn’t like it?
McGee: No.
Kate and Tony (laugh): He didn’t inhale.

Kate: What now, Gibbs?
Gibbs: Well, I guess we just give up, Agent Todd.

Kate: How many guys wear ascots today?
Tony: I have.
Kate: You would.

Gibbs: Okay, thanks, Abs.
Abby: Oh, anything for you, wonderful wizard.

Gibbs: Even likeable people have beefs. So I’m told.

Tony: You know, except for the murder and abduction part, I kinda think this guy’s onto something.
NCIS Agent Jane Melankovic: I can’t believe you just said that.
Tony: Why?

McGee: I’m actually not confused.
Tony: You just think you’re not confused, in reality you’re very confused, and that contradiction is what makes the whole situation seem, um, more, uh...
McGee: Confusing?
Tony: Exactly.

Gibbs (to Tony, over cell): Put down the Good Wife’s Guide and listen up.

Tony: I’ll make, um, copies of their service photos. (motions to McGee)
Gibbs: Uh, DiNozzo.
Tony: Yeah?
Gibbs: Make the copies yourself. (hangs up)
Tony: Of course.

Commander Spencer: Only time I ever met him was at the Navy Ball. Seemed normal to me.
Gibbs: Yeah, usually do.

Tony: Well, it’s either a dark room or a really small bordello. What’s your call?
Jane: Have you always been such a smart ass, Agent DiNozzo?
Tony: Tony. Probably as long as you’ve been an overachiever, Jane.

McGee: How’s your head?
Tony: Still throbbing. You know what bongos are?
McGee: Yeah.
Tony: Well, a beatnik is playing them in my head.
Kate: You finally met the perfect ‘50's woman and she almost killed you, DiNozzo.
Tony: She was so obedient.
Kate: Scary how impressed you are by that.

Gibbs: DiNozzo, Kate, McGee, MTAC, now.
Tony: DiNozzo, Kate, McGee? DiNozzo, Kate, McGee.
Kate: Beatnik gone.
Tony: Yeah.
