Season One Poll

Well, I thought I should actually do something for this comm, so to that end here's a poll (my first ever, so I hope it works!) of Season One gestures and headslaps. Hopefully, it will kick off some discussion.

To refresh memories (cus I know mine sucks!), there are some viewing resources

1. an album of caps for each moment (details are under ( Read more... )

1. This one was a good cracking thwap! And it felt like an intimate moment with them bending over the monitor together. Also the crack Tony made was about Gibbs' eyesight was obviously cheeky in a personal way.

2. No one should headslap Tony except for Gibbs, so I liked what Tony said after it more than the slap.

3. Gibbs and Ducky look so adorable and affectionate in this one. And the smiles!

4. see 1. above.

5. If someone who really annoyed me dunked their lemon in my drink, I'd feel like slapping them too *g*.

6. Gibbs was equally responsible for the coffee spill and he was quite irascible about it. Tony was just trying to help!

It was tricky! I had a hard time myself on some of them. Esp. #2 - neither are actually favourites per se, but I wanted to keep it open for non-G/T people.

Yes, it was a hard choice in #3 I love the crumb brushing too. I didn't know that about Princess Margaret. You make a good Ducky! *g*

5. It came down to the Cary Grant and the coffee for me, and you're spot on about the reason for it being least well deserved. Also, that moment was all about Ari and Gibbs was so angry and wound up. He would have let it go under other circumstances.

I thought your comment about Tony's lack of reaction to the slap in 'The Curse' was interesting. I noticed the same thing.

Obviously this was the first slap we ever see in the show and perhaps they didn't quite know which way the slaps were going to head or even if it would just be a one off. But as for the character's reaction - stunned or well-deserved could easily explain it.

I wondered whether it might be because the only other person to witness it was the other TAD agent. Maybe Tony was embarrased and didn't want to make a big deal, or perhaps he didn't need to put on a show like he sometimes does when he's slapped in front of his fellow team mates.

Very interesting.

Yes - it could be the presence of the TAD agent. Although in later eps Tony reacts quite a lot even when it's just him and Gibbs and nobody else is there. I really do think it's because it's the first time it happened - maybe MW wasn't expecting it *g*. I rather like the non-reaction - it makes it seem like he's really used to it rather than it being an *actual* first time. And boy does he go out of his way to get this one - the cracks about Gibbs's eyesight seem almost calculated because Tony *wants* this kind of reaction from Gibbs *g*.

I have to say also, that the S1 headslaps seem qutie hard in places. Later on they don't seem to *crack* with such force *g*.

Also, they film these scenes dozens of times - so the number of *actual* slaps MW has received, compared to Tony, must be really high. Poor lamb!

1. That was a real whack - I almost felt it myself. Plus Tony needed taking down after all those comments about Gibbs's eyesight.

2. We get confirmation from Tony that Gibbs is the only one who can slap him - the only one Tony really allows to slap him. (Not that Tony really has much say in the matter).

3. The crumb brushing was such an intimate gesture and the looks the two gave each other were priceless.

4. Got to be the curse, although I did like cable repair guy too.

5. The cracks about Gibbs's eyesight and age must have irritated the ex-sniper no end. Glad he took a swipe at Tony.

6. Coffee spill - equal blame on that one, although the Carry Grant movie slap came slightly out of the blue. Didn't feel he deserved a slap for that really.

Good poll. Thanks

2. Yeah I liked the reasoning after it rather than the slap, which was quite deserved.

With you on #6, although it was a close call between the Cary Grant slap and that one.

Glad you liked the poll!
