Ducky smiled as he remembered Jethro’s words: “When you are out on Lake Huron at night you can never have on too many layers. It gets damn cold even in the summer, Duck.”
Jethro had just called. He was on KISMET sailing in the Port Huron to Mackinac race. They were about four hours from the finish, and currently in second place.
If they could hold their position, it would be a personal best for both the boat and captain.
Ducky stuffed a pair of long underwear into his duffle. He was going to fly up and meet Jethro at the finish line on the island.
On Wednesday they would leave in KISMET for Port Huron.
They had brought the boat home once before a few years ago. It had been an idyllic four days. He and Jethro completely alone, together.
They would sail all day and put in to a marina every evening. Most of the time they would cook dinner in the galley. Then spend the evening sitting on deck in the dark admiring the incredible up north skies.
Ducky shivered slightly with excitement as he remembered their long slow lovemaking as KISMET gently moved in the water.
