the mysteries of a heart
she is beauty, danger, purity
and she does not know
how to handle her heart;
she understands the ways
of guns or knives, bombs,
even, yet love is foreign
as her skin, her native
soil, her way of life.
when she finds herself
entranced in a man, perhaps
one lady, there are sides
revealed, secret windows
opened, and she blinks,
tears in her eyes, from light,
naivete, flooding in, reducing
her strength, causing questions
to arise in her organized mind.
she worries, to a passionate
degree, about her object
tion to the notion of love,
why her mind is not more
like another woman’s mind
(consumed by the desire
to be in the arms of another,
that is exactly the emotion
she is searching for) - but
it is not true, for she does
seek to be held, to be wanted,
to be loved by another. man,
woman, it does not matter
whom, just as long as she
can come to an understanding
with the mysteries of her
own personal casefile.
