A couple weeks ago I started a new medication which kicked my butt for over a week. I didn't sleep for days, had horrible stomach pains and still had to take my exams. Yeah it was mostly that which bothered me. Spock's mom's hair being brown not blonde, plus I think that winnona rider was a bad choice. Spock/uhura was weird as fuck, but then things like Dr. McCoy they made him so exactly the same it was unreal (same with Checkov, Sulu, and for the most part Scotty). It was mostly the fact though that it kind of erases everything that happens in every Star Trek ever, unless they make a 2nd movie in which they fix the timeline.

I cant deny though that the movie was overall good, just not in the classic Star Trek spirit way. Also the redesign of the bridge graphics, warping effect and the view of space while they were in warp was pretty cool. As well as the immediate action (like when the Romulans say "there is another ship coming in" and immediately the next thing you see is the Enterprise firing, classically that scene would be shown from the bridge of the Enterprise so you would know they were about to fire and it would be less exciting I guess).

Its also worth noting that I drove from Kent, OH to Pittsburgh on opening night to see this movie in IMAX on Thursday night lol. Thats basically 2 hrs + a little.
