There's Something About Nora

First things first, I'm not a huge fan of Nora. I like the actress and I don't hate the character, but Nora never connected with me for a variety of reasons. Mostly I thought they short-cut too much with the character, I was told everything so I felt I never got to get to know her. There's other stuff, but that's not what this is about; I just wanted to establish my biases.

So, for the people who DO like Nora - do you like the direction her character has taken post-hiatus?

For me, the character seems to have lost the few traits I did like.

The Rebel Connection - Nora is the one with rebel connections and, assuming that the rebels are working on a need-to-know cell structure, she is presumably fairly high up. So why is reduced to 'Miles Matheson will save us now' and just accepting his assertion that they are rubbish. (Ok, the rebels suck a bit, but the Militia that Miles keeps saying he trained aren't so good either.)

The Love Connection - I'm not a huge fan of the love triangle ANYHOW, but the way they are unravelling it doesn't exactly do Nora any favours. She's marking territory with fairly uninspiring kisses, while Miles acts as if she's a mate he's not that fond off. When he tells Jim that 'men like them' can't have relationships, Nora is right there. He didn't even look at her. Then when he's giving Charlie and Rachel longing looks over the fire, she holds his hand. It makes her look either so desperate she'll take whatever he'll give her (which she wasn't! she moved on! she was vaguely annoyed with Miles finding her!) or  weirdly stalkery/possessive.

Any Connection? - What did she really contribute during the search for Jim other than being an extra sword? She didn't argue with Miles presumably beating the crap out of Jim's innocent brother (or maybe the man's an inveterate drunk and he just got some whiskey) and she didn't really have much to contribute to Miles and Jim's conversation. It's not that she's pointless, but it wouldn't have taken much to give her a real impact on the plot. They seem dedicated to putting her on screen, but haven't thought of ways to make that time count.

Apparently in the next couple of episodes, Miles is going to 'discover' he's sexually attracted to both Nora and Rachel. Which kind of sucks for Nora, who's been kissing on him for a while.

Like I said above, Nora isn't my favourite character so maybe I'm being unfair. I was just wondering if her fans liked how it is going?
