Tim ----

(1:15) ...you get the backstory and you're like: wait, what? I went to- Huh? ...Kripke likes us stumbling around in the dark.

(1:32) [About whether Ben's a hero] (Dryly) He caused the end of civilisation, as we know it...It's interesting to me though that in the post Blackout period, Ben is the only one who has not ever committed violence, that we've seen. Which is *makes face* interesting and he feels like he's very much about: How do you form [a] community...

(2:24) [Tim learnt how to make fire at a Survival School] What you quickly figure out is - we really all need each other: I mean, there's no way to really be self-sufficient.

(2:47) [About Miles and Ben's relationship] I think it's contentious. I think there's a certain mystery around what our-...the distance between the two of us is. That we haven't really explored completely yet...and I think we love each other, and I think we're distant.

Elizabeth ----

(0:25) [About the Capsule] We completely tell everybody in like two episodes...it's a good one, it's incredibly plausible. Which I liked...and different than what I thought.

(0:53) [About Rachel] ...then you have kind of an antihero in a way, who really does try to be heroic and I love that...[and] she doesn't really feel like she has anything to lose, but she's also fractured, like you're not dealing with a person you can expect behaviour from...and I would imagine it's because she probably just wants to die...I don't think there's any worse pain, right? So it's about making sure that her daughter is alright and it's about getting revenge...

(3:06) [About whether Rachel would manipulate Miles to get what she wants] If she could get what she wanted through kissing him - she'd kiss him all day. (Laughing) I mean she'd kiss anybody...she kills people for christs sake...she's morally reprehensible, but it is for an interesting reason, so in that way I can get on board.

(3:41) We're shooting the last episode right now, everything that we've talked about so far - all of those questions are answered. And the backstories to all of those are shown, not talked about - and that's my favorite thing.

Tracy ----

(1:37) ...there's also a lot of things that she's finding out, she didn't know that her mother was held from her and there's a lot of trust issues there...they do have a common enemy, but the way they go about things is very different as you can see through the series - they both have different angles to things.

(2:05) Miles is like her- Not only is he her...um, parental figure, if you will, I think that was kind of more earlier on, parental figure. [But] they've grown to be quite close...he's her best friend and somebody that she trusts implicitly...Miles is that person who she's kind of now grown to a place where they're a lot more equal...[Charlie's] now a valuable asset to this war.

(2:55) [Mimics teasing Elizabeth] Rachel really just has no boundaries - could we keep Jason for Charlie? Could you just...*mimes elbowing her away*

WonderCon 2013: ‘Revolution’ Panel, Geeks of Doom (full article)

Natalie Abrams from TV Guide.com moderated the Revolution panel on Saturday at WonderCon 2013 in Anaheim, CA. She introduced panelists co-executive producer David Rambo, and actors Zack Orth, Elizabeth Mitchell, Billy Burke, Tracy Spiridakos, David Lyons, Daniella Alonzo, and Tim Guinee.

The moderator asked, how Danny’s death was going to affect the characters moving forward from that point. Rambo said it was emotional behind-the-scenes to say goodbye to a fellow cast member, particularly since finding him was the motivating force of the first half of the season. In his absence, it really ups the stakes, and the emotions are hotter. The cast were all surprised when they found out he’d be killed off, and they’re all waiting for the axe to drop on their own characters. Mitchell was asked what that capsule was that she removed from Danny’s body. She said we’ll find out in two episodes, and more about the capsule through the rest of the season.

Spiridakos was asked what it’ll be like for her character to mature as the series progresses, in the wake of Danny’s death. She said she’s really turning into a warrior and with the loss of Danny, something inside her has died, and audiences are going to see her harden.

Lyons said that his character revolves around the relationship with Miles, and we’ll see more of that evolving as the series progresses. Orth said that his character, Aaron, discovers he’s way over his head and is about to realize the extent of which is more than he can imagine. Guinee’s character, Ben, while killed off in the season opener, will return in a couple of weeks in flashback, and we may see more of him throughout the season as well.

Burke said Miles will realize a sense of compassion he never had in Monroe’s forces. We’ll come across a character this season who was Miles’ first love and there’ll be a love triangle conflict between him and Monroe over this, deepening their backstory. Burke noted that the actors who play himself and Monroe as teens are better actors than the adult versions.

In the trailer that prided the panel, we saw scenes of Nora being kidnapped and tortured by Monroe, but Daniella said Nora’s a survivor and may come out of it alive, but not without doing some badass ass-kicking stunt work. Spiridakos’ favorite stunt this season was when she gets to stab someone with an arrow, and said, “it looks awesome.” Orth said he’s never disappointed and always impressed by the amazing sets they get to play on and how detailed the production design is on the show.

We’ll be seeing new territories in the coming season, including the Plains nations, California and Texas, which will have resorted to a Wild West atmosphere after the blackout. Rambo said the show will continue to mix present day with flashbacks and in that, we’ll see how the blackout affected other parts of the country. Atlanta, GA and its yet to be revealed leader will look a lot different than Philadelphia under Monroe. Rambo said ultimately we’re leading up to a huge Miles/Monroe confrontation. The actors don’t get to see the scripts until before they film, so they have no idea what the season will lead to before they shoot it.

Orth joked that outside of the savagery and the bloodlust, the post-blackout society is “actually kinda nice.” Burke wondered aloud if they’ll actually want the lights back, now that they’re used to having no power. Rambo hinted that in human history, since mankind has been without power more than it has with, we could potentially go a LONG time without power, save for a few pockets of power. We’re going to see how attractive power is, both literally and metaphorically, and how destructive it can be.

Finally, the cast was asked if, when they learned that J.J. Abrams (whose Bad Robot production company produces Revolution, and who has worked with many of its cast members previously) was to helm Star Wars, did any of the actors call him up and put in a good word for themselves? Most of the actors said they hadn’t thought of it, to which Burke joked, “Oh, he didn’t call you?”

Quotes - Collider, Wondercon Billy Burke Interview (full article)

[Now that you know the reveal about the power, how shocking was that information for you?]

They set it up, so that when we do find out what actually transpired, you’re more interested in other stuff by then. If it were just going to be a show about the power going away, then it wouldn’t have been very interesting. Really, once you do take that power away and that way of life away, the show just becomes about, “Don’t die, and take care of and fight for what you love.” That’s really what the show is about. The power is secondary to that.

[What can you say about Miles’ love life?]

Everybody will be kissed by Miles, in the future. As Monroe starts to sink further and further into the abyss, and Charlie basically takes on all the characteristics of Miles that he would never want to see in her, especially, let alone anybody else, he starts to reveal some things about himself that he would never have even admitted to, and he starts to realize that there’s more to care about then himself. He’s just a selfish bastard, but he starts to realize that these annoying fucking people that he’s been hanging around with for so long, he actually does start to care about them. So, we’ll start to see that more and more.

[What's he going to do with Nora and Rachel?]

He’s just really following his instinct and, at this point, trying not to destroy more than he builds.

[The evolution of Charlie and Miles' relationship]

Well, Miles doesn’t have any kids of his own, that he knows about, so when this little brat comes along and snivels her way into his life, he wants no part of it. Now, he’s looking over his shoulder, every moment, for where she is. Does he want to be doing that? No, he doesn’t, but he can’t help it now. And then, he starts to almost enjoy seeing her evolve and become this little warrior. But, as that starts to grow and build, and she starts to get deeper and deeper into that, she starts to become all those things that he would never have wanted her to be, and all the things about himself that he would just as soon deny. So, it gets real dicey and interesting there.

[Does he get advanced info before reveals]

Not one thing, no. As a matter of fact, and we all deal with it, we’ll get scripts and something will be said or some action will take place, and we’ll be like, “What?! Why?!” For me, there was a lot of getting on the phone with Kripke and going, “How is this going to be redeemable?” And he’ll say a couple things, and I’ll go, “All right.” We just go on blind faith.

__________

Like I said this is most of it...there are a few more videos, longer ones, and Zak and Daniella as well...but I meant to go to bed an hour ago, soo... running away now. This is probably more of a something to look at on the weekend type of thing anyway. But before I run, I have to say: I love that GEEK cover, if only for the placement of everyone - it's perfect. And I love how Billy sees the Miles-Charlie relationship (plus, it's nice to know that Miles is going to see Charlie's slipping and probably do something about that). Also, Elizabeth and Tracy are really weird and need to be featured in behind the scenes stuff when the DVD finally comes out for all the reasons.
