I am re-watching Kashmir and the finale because of reasons. And many things have occurred to me. I'm going to put them behind a cut. I would love your opinions and thoughts!

This is my least favorite of all the theories...

I'm with evenstar1002 too - I'd have to get off the Marlie train. Which would suck more than I can imagine. It would just suck. I love them so much.

Poke holes you say? Well, okay...if you want me to.

(And this kind of post is completely welcome - half the fun is Speculation!)

Miles has an actual brother. Which points to some distance between Miles and Ben. Maybe they were never that close? Hard to say with what we've seen. We do know that Ben called Miles right before the blackout, which I take to mean he loved his brother, even if they weren't close.I've always imagined they were close, before. The way Miles answered the phone suggests it - the fact that, that was the last call Ben made, that he's been calling and calling trying to warn him. He didn't call Rachel on the way home to warn her, he was focused on someone who would have no clue what was going on. His little brother ( ... )

The Matheson children themselves. One is healthy and one is not. That could mean nothing, or it might mean that Danny's health problems are genetic and came from Ben. While Charlie is healthy because she is Miles's kid.

I've always thought Ben had hidden strength, which clashes with what we've seen in flashbacks so far, I know. And while Charlie might behave as Rachel would, she has the strength of her convictions behind her, she has Ben's ability to stay calm, get things done. And while I see the similar aspects in Miles and Charlie's personalities and behaviours - I don't think it's because she's his kid.

Plus, I always flip it around - if Charlie could be fathered by someone else, what about Danny? What if Danny was Miles' kid...my jaw would drop and I would be speechless for a few days. Because that would be hilarious and also, we'd probably have to kill him off. Danny I'm sorry but now you're too big a story and we would prefer to explore others. If Danny's not Ben's, it'd explain Ben's disconnect during the ultrasound. It'd ( ... )

There's some holes for you, but end of the day it's just one person's opinion. It can't really sway your own (or anyone else's) if you see things differently than I do. I don't think the Show would go there - mainly because that'd be really cliche (not to mention, make the lingering glances and chemistry REALLY AWKWARD) and Revolution seems to be taking broad strokes to create this huge world full of broken people while avoiding the obvious cliches - ie ( ... )

I think Charlie being Miles kid makes all of his actions make sense. If you look at the episode Children's Crusade he decides to help those kids because he feels guilty for taking their parents. That goes with his feeling guilty for taking Charlie's parents. (Inadvertently as the case may be with Ben.) That episode is when we really start to see the change in Miles attitude towards Charlie. She's an orphan now. Who better to step up than her biological father, even if he never intended to play the role? Seeing those kids really drove it home for him.

(But this is all speculation of course. I mean, it doesn't change much in the way that I watch the show. I had a convo with a friend in which I said something along the lines of "La-la-la-la. I shipped Nathan/Claire on Heroes, this changes NOTHING." I just wanted to put it out there and see what people thought. It might also be fun to point back to it if it does come to pass!)

I just laughed for about 30 seconds without stopping.

That's classic!

^_^ If it happens, you can totally be the person saying - I told you so! (While we're all dying on the floor) It's only right for being the first person to bring that theory here *nods*

(You are one of my favorite people to talk to.)

And ugh I always hated Clarie. And the plot twist thing - Silas is family! NOPE. HE'S NOT. GOT YOU. And then Heroes ruined the one ship/reason I had for watching - Elle/Silas. That was his name right? It was so long ago... I feel like I'm wrong :/

Heh. It was Sylar. I shipped him with EVERYONE. He was such a fun character... Ah, those were the days.

- Standup guy or not, shit happens. Maybe she told him to leave the military because she couldn't take him being gone.

- Doesn't mean she didn't meet Miles first. Stranger things have happened. Maybe she didn't finish college until after Charlie was born, with Ben guiding her.

- In the graveyard Miles said something like he was nothing without Monroe. That makes me think that he doesn't think very highly of himself. Why? Basing your worth on someone else is never healthy, but he does it here. Monroe is desperate and I think Miles was too.

- Maybe he did want them all back. And Rachel chose to sacrifice herself. The scenario still works.

- If Ben had already moved on with Maggie? Yeah. I can see her staying. Or maybe Monroe grabbed her when Miles left. Who knows?

- Yes, I cannot wait for the flashbacks!

- I can't see Rachel wanting Miles. It just doesn't compute.

Ben's sweet, solid, he compliments her fieriness - Bass is dark and twisted, obsessive and dangerous, he can drag her down; make her do things she never imagined she would.

All I can imagine Miles and Rachel doing is fighting, each believing they're right (they're in charge) - and expecting Charlie & probably Aaron to settle the argument. Both of them right now (can't speak to the past - coz we don't know anything) have said: THIS IS ALL MY FAULT.

And it is. Sort of.

They both want to fix things, because it's killing them - being inactive and giving up isn't who either of them are, but they did it. So they're both going to fight for the reins and I can't picture Rachel staying. I don't know where she would go. But I see Charlie staying with Miles...*muses* the easiest way would be if they're captured. Because obs she wouldn't leave Danny on purpose.

And I see Miles' outrage that Bass kept her, as an extension of his guilt about letting Ben down, letting his family ( ... )

- They were young. These things happen. (That slap, that was about SOMETHING. Come on.)

- Your points about Miles not protecting her like she's his kid are valid. BUT. She never really was his. He didn't raise her. Biologically, yes he knows she is his child. But in reality Ben was her dad. He's rescued her how many times now? Been right there for her and kept her close? He, just like Rachel, is becoming a bit of a mess when it comes to her. (To use your own words.)

I have no idea how she would know. Maybe Miles let her go and she saw them together? I still do not understand why she turned herself in to Miles and then he thought she was dead. That whole thing is driving me crazy. But there is something between them. Something more than SIL and BIL seeing each other after a long time. Even Norah gave her a look. And the way Bass greeted Charlie. Saying her full name and sizing her up. And then watching as she stood up to Strausser ( ... )

If I gave up a kid. Even if I didn't see it for years at a time. But I ran into him/her and they were running into danger - it wouldn't matter that someone else had raised them, instinctively they would become top priority - the running back into a burning building, taking a bullet level of priority.

(Tho, I think it's different from the 'child's' POV - there, there's a disconnect. The parent is the one who raised them.)

He, just like Rachel, is becoming a bit of a mess when it comes to her. (To use your own words.)

I *know*. That's why I love them. She's worn him down. He's become increasingly less able to separate his own feelings from each dangerous situation that she insists on being in (with him). He needs her, and he knows it.

What's he have to go back to?

And the way Bass greeted Charlie. Saying her full name and sizing her up. And then watching as she stood up to Strausser. I ADORED that bit. ( ... )

My current idea is that maybe Miles tried to let Rachel gone cause she wasn't going to tell him anything, but Bass 'killed' her rather that let her defy them. (Or she escaped, but Bass sent Strausser after her). That was the too much blood for Miles,it is easy to rationalise away strangers but not so easy when it is your sister-in-law.

Only, of course, Bass actually kept Rachel...under the stairs.

No, he kept her in the attic.

Everyone knows that's where you store extra wives... I mean lovers...uh prisoners.

...my brain just legitimately just threw up a HP crossover idea on the phrase 'under the stairs'. I hope you're happy with yourself.

Charlie's Harry Vs Bass's He-who-shall-not-be-named. omg. The crack. It burns.

I gave myself an Alpha/Revolution crossover last night, so no sympathy!

And...so the Nevilles are the Malfoys and Miles is Snape?

Ahh, does that mean Jeremy has to be Pettigrew? :D

OOOH Neville!Malfoys - that'd be goood.

MILES SNAPE. OMG. O_O ...*giggles* that'd be quite hilarious. His hair all slicked back, swishing around in his cloak...

Wait, does that make Aaron!Ron and Nora!Hermione?

Hey! *slaps imaginary tabletop* OR Miles could be um Siris Black (spelling?)...except without the dying part.

The problem is we need more Rev' characters.

Coz I'd adore Jeremy to be Lupin.

And Nora would be a lol-y Professor McGonagall...

But who is Danny? OH OH OH Danny can be that guy (uuhh my memory fails...I was never in HP fandom and haven't read the books in forever) you know, the fail-y guy who ended up being tall and hot in the last movies...(which I've only seen the trailers of)...you know, he was kinda prone to accidents.
