Wait. So she was 28 when she died, and Miles left Monroe like 8 years ago or whatever...Hmmmm.

That age difference is a little shady. Miles was almost twice her age...(and she was possibly a teenager) when they met and hooked up.

And we give 30 y.o Bass flack for sexting a 21 year old smh.

1 - When did Nora join the Rebels and why? We know what she SAYS, but can we trust it?

I thought it was sometime after losing the baby with the guy who couldn't handle being with a woman who could take care of herself (and him). So a year (IDK how long it takes to move on in Blackout world, you'd never really know if you were going to last the year). And I think like everyone else on this show Nora was searching for a connection, to belong to something, to mean something - and she chose a bunch of misfit fighters.

...and then, Team Matheson.

Which is basically the exact same thing, but with Aaron.

2 - Terrorist or Rebel - what's the difference? We never got to know if she felt guilt for any of the deaths she caused. So IDK. And how many ( ... )

1: My head-canon - just because I like it best - is that Nora lies sometimes. I would say more, but if I get a chance to write anything for the prompts this might make it in.

2: Nora set bombs. Generally, that isn't good at targeting only the innocent. Even assuming her Wanted poster was just militia propaganda, she had to kill innocents and civilians. Not to mention the fact that the rank and file of the militia are apparently indoctrinated teenagers.... When she was bombing the train she didn't have qualms.

3: And finally, because mid-move! new job on Monday! arrrgh. I don't think Nora meant to commit suicide, but she knew she was probably going to die when she stepped out into that corridor. I prefer 'she did it because she thought it was worth it to turn on the power' but the juxtaposition with her 'he loves you' talk with Rachel makes it a bit...eww, don't be Juilety, Nora.

1)
We can trust it, because the writers never cared enough about her to try and give her deeper motivation than "dead kid" and "I want Miles". On the other hand, it's not like she was all "Militia-yay!" beforehand, but I think back then she was always looking out for herself and those she cared about (Miles, her sister) and not everyone else. I think losing the baby and getting dumped by the guy made her think about the future, about what kind of a world her kid would have been born into and made her want to fix things. So she stopped caring only about herself and took up a cause she believed in.

2) One man's terrorist is another man's freedom fighter and only History decides which is which. My definition has always been "who is being targeted- civilians or soldiers? Is the killing needless, the collateral damage's scope and whether or not they're indifferent towards it. Is it just about killing anyone, including innnocent people or does the destruction somehow serve the greater good?" But since this is Revolution and things are more ( ... )

I never really warmed to Nora, because I thought she was a poorly thought out replacement for Maggie. She was bad-ass, but she was bad-ass in a similar way to Miles - Maggie was bad-ass in her own way. It gave them more...angles to bump off each other?

I did like her McGuyver skills in the first episode though, but then they just sorta...side-lined her? It was really obvious in Kashmir. Everyone else got something interesting to do - she got, what, an alligator? Even her flashback episode was pretty lacklustre - it wasn't bad for the character, but....she hid under a bed, hugged her sister a bit. Why not take it forward a few years and see her joining the militia? or learning to be a bounty hunter? Or....something! Anyyyyyything.

I hope we get better for the new characters.

I loved Maggie, I never understood why they wanted to replace her and you're right- Maggie was badass in her own way, which was awesome.

I hope we get better for the new characters.

If it's female characters, I wouldn't hold my breath- this is Kripke we're talking about. If he gets a decent female character (that isn't named Matheson) he'll find a way to ruin her/get rid of her.

Well, I loved Nora in the first half. She used to be my second favorite character until the hiatus happened. As I've said before, she and Miles's relationship had a genderless, I pass the gun, you pass the gun, quality to it that I liked as a romantic thing. Miles clearly felt he needed her skills and also clearly relied on her for emotional support. I think he felt she understood him and loved him as he was, warts and all. I'm sad the writers demolished her character in the second half of the season and killed her off, as I think her character had legs. Fie on them!

1 - When did Nora join the Rebels and why? We know what she SAYS, but can we trust it? Hah! What makes you think she's a liar, corycides? (Besides the fact that that is fun and amusing. I like!) Is it that she was so tight-lipped and seemed to know much more than she was letting on? Is it because she was very young when she and Miles hooked up, perhaps revealing that she's a pragmatist, who is possibly in it for her own survival? She certainly found a way to hook up with who I ( ... )

2 - Terrorist or Rebel - what's the difference? No difference except in the eye of the beholder. In my fic about the early days of the Republic, Aevum, I certainly had Miles call the Rebels terrorists. If you feel you are the legit authority then that's what they are. If you are outside the legit authority of course you're patriots or rebels or whatever. Take the Americans in the Revolutionary War. As ivy_b said, "History decides which is which." The Americans won and declared themselves patriots, revolutionaries. If they had lost, terrorist may have been applied with good reason.
4 - What would you have done with Nora's character in Season 2 if she had survived the finale?
I like ivy_b's idea (no, I'm not brown nosing you, dear, I just agree with you today ;) ) and it frustrates me that instead of Nora's dad in Texas, we'll get some other character's family there (don't want to spoil and not sure how to do the hiding thing). Anyway, in season 2, I'd have Nora reveal a hell of a lot more about her past with Miles - maybe some of that alleged ( ... )

You can brown nose, it just won't get you anything, LOL. It's nice that we can agree every now and again.

"Was Nora actually the key to Miles's self-realization to leave the militia? Or was it Rachel? Or was it something Miles came to entirely on his own? I believe she was at least part of it."

My headcanon is that Nora helped open Miles' eyes, helped him realize the Militia weren't the force of good/necessary evil he thought they were, but the thing with Rachel (abduction/"death"/whatever happened 4 years ago) was the finale straw. Nora gave him an outsider's perspective on the Republic and Rachel's thing was what made him realize they went too far and apparently there was no reasoning with Bass, the only option is assassination (I would love it if that was Nora's input, but I wouldn't hold my breath for any Nora-reveal).
