At last...! 8D
Seriously, this took SO long. Remind me not to translate talk shows ever again DX You know, in anime, drama and movies they actually talk pretty slowly and, most importantly, they rarely talk over each other. But in talk shows they just blabber whatever goes through their minds, they speak fast and all over each other, so you can have something like 15 lines said in 5-10 seconds DX And you have to listen to the same bits over and over to catch all the lines @_@
But anyway, here it is. Actually, in the beginning I only planned to summarize it, but when I tried to I realized that all the amusing parts would get lost if you didn't translate every single line, so I eventually did just that. It took me 4 days, well, nights, since I have work in the day >_> I hope you will like it 8D
I summarized the start and the very end, the rest is an almost 100% complete translation of every single thing they said. I only left out a few useless things like when they randomly say "hai" (yes) just to mean that they're listening to what the other person is saying, or when they're talking all over each other and some things get lost in the mess (luckily I could make out most of it).
It might be a bit messy to follow here and there, but that's how they're speaking so blame them, not me, lol. All the things in brackets are my comments, I mostly added them to clear some thing up that might be ambiguous, especially if you're not watching the movie.
As for the movie, unfortunately it was only available for viewing until Nov 29th at 11pm Japanese time, so it's not around anymore :/ I actually was able to download the .flv file from Ustream, but for some reason my VLC (that can usually play FLV files fine) won't play the video but only the audio, and a bit distorted >_>
I uploaded it on MegaUpload, if any of you is able to convert it into something readable/viewable I'll be very grateful (and everyone else will be too I guess) >_<
Here's the link. And now, on to the actual translation! (warning: it's lonnnng and it might damage your brain 8D)
A last note: I left a few spaces between the dialogues, but they're not actually pausing or anything, I just tried to divide the conversation topics so that it's a little easier to read.
Special Talk Live ~HERO TV in TAMASHII NATION 2011~
The MC is Tomoko Naka, a veteran seiyuu.
She introduces the event and announces the names of the guests and the characters they voice (unlike later on, she says everything fine here XD).
The guests are Hiroaki Hirata (Kotetsu T. Kaburagi), Masakazu Morita (Barnaby Brooks Jr.) and Gou Inoue (Keith Goodman).
The show was broadcasted live on Ustream and people could comment live. If you wanted to attend the live physically you had to apply through a lottery, only 25 people were chosen (I think the room was pretty small), and as far as I know you couldn't see anything even if you were at the expo when the show aired.
She warns the people there that it's not allowed to take pictures or record sounds.
She then introduces the event.
The event is organized by Bandai Tamashii Nations and was held on the 2nd floor of UDX, a building in Akihabara. It lasted 3 days and is apparently the biggest figure expo organized by Bandai so far. Both already released products and new ones were on display, among which trial versions of still not announced figures.
The entrance fee for the expo was 500 yen and you also received a small catalog and a limited Sky High transparent figure as an entrance bonus if you got there early enough (well, we got there at 13 on Sunday and we still got them).
At last she calls the guests, but... this time she fails at pronouncing Kotetsu's name, saying "Ka-katsu-... Kaburagi T. Kotetsu, sorry!!! Kaburagi T. Kotetsu, voiced by Hiroaki Hirata" and then it gets worse with "Barja.. Barnaby" because she just can't stop laughing X°D Anyway, Morita, Hirata and Inoue come in.
Morita: "I can't believe this, senpai, you even stumbled over katakana!"
Naka: "Did I??"
Morita: "Yeah what was that, Bu-Buunaby? You did."
Naka: "I'm really sorry everybody, let's start properly this time."
everybody: "Hello~~!"
Naka: "Thank you for coming here even though you're all so busy. Let's start with the introductions, Hirata-san first."
Hirata: (the mike is off) "I'm here, I'm Wild Tiger!"
(Naka laughs)
Morita: "You're not meant to laugh at this."
Naka: "Such great service! (their "service" is kinda like "fanservice" XD) Please say it again!"
Morita (he realizes the mike is off): "Wait, isn't your mike off?" (he switches it on)
Hirata (trying the mike): "Hello, hello?" (now it's on)
Morita: "You're not a newbie, switch it on!"
Naka: "I'm sorry, I didn't realize either!"
Morita: "Please excuse him."
Hirata: "Since you couldn't hear.. (again in Wild Tiger voice) I'm here, I'm Wild Tiger!!"
Naka: "Wooooooh, so cool!!"
Hirata: "Thank you thank you."
Naka: "Thank you very much, next is Morita-san, please."
Morita: "Yes. Hi~! I'm Barnaby, the one who ends up bargaining when he comes to Akihabara. Hi! I'm Morita, hello everybody!"
Naka: "Thank you, next is Inoue-san!"
Inoue (before she can even finish her line): "High hi-hiigh!"
Morita: "You cut her off!"
Inoue: "I'm Sky High's seiyuu and today I came with 5-fingered socks. I'm Gou Inoue!!" (he even said the socks thing on Twitter, lmao)
Naka: "You all seem very excited today. Inoue-san is also cutting people off."
Hirata: "You seem to be living on the run, are you ok? Do you have something to do after this?"
Inoue: "I think I'm just slightly nervous."
Hirata: "I see, so you cut people off when you're nervous. Ok!"
Naka: "I see! Thank you!"
Naka: "I heard that the Tiger & Bunny figures are very popular..."
Morita: "They are, they're really popular."
Naka: "How does it feel when the character you're playing is made into an action figure?" (not that it's the first time for him, considering he voices Ichigo in Bleach, lol)
Morita: "Well, of course I'm extremely happy, but you see, the T&B figures are selling so well that even though we actors want them too they're giving them to customers first."
Naka: "Oh I see, I guess the people in the audience here might have bought them already. (to the public) Who has them? (apparently lots of people raised their hands) Wow, basically everybody! ..Ah, wait, Inoue-san raised his hand as well!!"
Inoue: "I preordered and bought them all on my own."
Naka: "That's amazing" (she's of course amused)
Morita: "And also, you got a few in advance that we haven't gotten yet, don't you?"
Hirata: "Right."
Naka: "Oh, how come?"
Inoue: "Uhm, maybe it's because Tamashii Nations is Sky High's sponsor, so I guess it's proper that they give them to the seiyuu of Sky High first.."
Morita: "Proper?"
Naka: "Proper?"
Morita: "Proper?"
Naka: "So you mean, instead of Kotetsu who is the protagonist..."
Morita: "Really?"
Hirata: "I know nothing, really. (turns to Inoue) You do have that Tamashii Nations one, I mean, the color brand.. the version with the logo?"
Inoue: "Yeah, this one (he points at the transparent Sky High mini figures that you could have as a bonus either by preordering the ticket or buying it directly at the event; the preorder version is blue and the event version is purple)."
Morita: "See, he's got that one too.."
Naka: "You do?"
Inoue: "Yes, I received this one in advance."
Morita: "Barnaby too, you know, I still don't have this one (points at the Barnaby figure), but you have the Amazon version too, don't you?" (the Amazon version is a limited edition that was only available through Amazon.co.jp and sports the Amazon logo on Barnaby's shoulder)
Inoue: (kinda giggling) "Yes, I received it just earlier."
(Naka laughs)
Inoue: "You see, the one that I received happened to be the standard edition, so they apologized and today Amazon gave me the limited one, but I also own two other Barnabys that I bought with my own money, so basically now I have 4 Barnabys."
Hirata: "This guy's a real fan!"
Morita: "I don't even have one!"
Naka: "So you're quite the Bunny-chan fan."
Inoue: "No.."
Morita (cutting him off): "Whaddya mean by 'no'!?"
(everybody cracks up)
Inoue: (to recover from the blunder) "I like him. I really like Bunny-chan!"
Naka: (still laughing) "I see..."
Hirata (to Inoue): "Wanna switch seats?"
Inoue: "It's ok."
Naka: (kinda changing the topic) "Wild Tiger also has many figures."
Hirata: "Many figures??"
Naka: "I would say so."
Morita: "This one (points at the Wild Tiger and Kotetsu figures in front of them), and also the one displayed at the expo, the 1/6 scale one."
Hirata: "The big one?"
Morita: "The lighted up one. Isn't that amazing? And also..."
Hirata: "The 'person inside'!" (he means human Kotetsu)
Morita: "...the 'person inside' version, like this..."
Naka: "Oh I see, a Kotetsu-san version."
Morita: "But the clothes are actual fabric."
Naka: "Fabric!?"
Morita: "It's currently a trial version."
Hirata: "It's silk, silk."
Morita: "Is it really silk??"
Naka: "How cool!"
Hirata: "No, I just said it randomly."
Morita: "Ah, randomly."
Naka: (laughing) "I see."
Morita: "It's really amazing. I was surprised, the figures' quality is so high... We're very happy about them."
Hirata: "Yeah, we are. (turns to Inoue) Do you have them?? Do you? The trial versions."
Inoue: "Uhm, well, not the trial ones, but I already preordered Kotetsu-san (points at the one in front of them, which is already available for preorder and is supposed to be shipped out in April; it's on demand only, so you have to preorder it if you want it)."
Naka: "You preordered it?? As expected."
Morita: (laughing) "Wow."
Naka: "By the way, Inoue-san, since your character Sky High has Tamashii Nations as his sponsor and is sporting their logo you also had a big part here, didn't you?"
Inoue: "Yes."
Naka: "First, this one."
(A guy comes in to bring a rectangular panel with a Sky High picture on it. Morita holds it up)
Naka: "Sorry for making you hold it up!"
Morita: "It's ok, I can be the secret MC."
Naka: "I'm sorry! (laughs)"
Morita: "You know, today's MC is actually my senpai."
Naka: "Sorry."
Morita: "So there are many things I can do nothing about."
Naka: "Wait, that's not true! How impertinent, this guy. (of course she's joking) This was played at the entrance, wasn't it?"
Morita: "Yes, when you enter the hall of Tamashii Nation 2011, you can see this.. welcome movie?"
Naka/Inoue: "Yes."
Morita: "This is, you see.."
Naka: (to the public) "You all saw it when you entered, didn't you?"
(We're shown a fullscreen picture, Sky High has the Tamashii Nations logo on his forearms)
Inoue: "Well, I recorded it for that purpose after all!"
Morita: "I guess they're showing it on Ustream too now."
Inoue: "Ah, now?"
(Then they realize that they actually aren't playing it, lol)
Morita/Naka: (to the staff) "Ah, please play it now."
Morita: "Let's see."
(We are shown the movie)
Sky High: "Tamashii Nation 2011. Everybody in the hall, welcome! And welcome again!"
Morita: "I think the actual movie uses his recorded voice, but we have the real one here, we can use him."
Naka: "Is it ok, Inoue-san? Would you do it for us?"
Inoue: "No, today is.."
Morita: "What!?"
Inoue: "I won't.."
(he's cut off by another movie, the one shown at the exit)
Sky High: "Did you have fun? I had fun! Much fun!"
(they're speaking in the meanwhile but of course it's covered by the movie, I think Inoue means that he's not doing it because the audience there can just watch the actual movies at the expo)
Naka: "Everyody who enters will be able to watch it. Did you come here alone to record this?"
Inoue: "Yes, I went to Bandai and we recorded it there."
Hirata: "This is basically all for you, it's like your.."
Naka: "Event?"
Hirata: "Like your event, basically."
Inoue: "Yeah..."
Naka: "You mean all of Tamashii Nation 2011?"
Hirata: "Because yeah, you did the welcome movie, right? And.."
Inoue: "The entrance bonus is Sky High.."
Hirata: "See? It's all like this recently, all these special things... Like the other day, when I went with Taiten to the Gyu-Gyu-Gyukaku campaign." (Naka laughs, I think because he stumbled XD) (he and Taiten Kusunoki, Rock Bison's seiyuu, went to have an interview at a Gyukaku shop for the "Rock Bison x Gyukaku" campaign)
Naka: "Did you go with him?"
Hirata: "That campaign was made for Taiten."
Naka: "Because he has the Gyukaku logo."
Morita: "I want that too."
Hirata: "What with Taiten, then Sky High, it's all about them, it is."
Naka: "But it's not just them."
Morita: "I have nothing of that."
Naka: "You have no acquaintances?"
Morita: "Even though I have the Bandai logo on my chest..."
Hirata: (grinning) "Maybe next time a big one is gonna come for you..."
Morita: (grinning too) "Is it??"
Naka: "Hirata-san has the Softbank logo, right?"
Morita: "Yes, Softbank. Didn't they win?" (the baseball team Fukuoka Softbank Hawks just won the national baseball tournament in Japan)
Hirata: "They did. But they didn't even say 'hi' to me."
(Naka laughs)
Morita: "Weren't you call to celebrate with beer?"
Hirata: "I wasn't. Not even SMAP called me." (SMAP do lots of TV CMs and visual advertising for Softbank)
Morita: "Really?"
Inoue: "Also, Wild Tiger actually has the SH Figuarts logo on his shoulder."
Naka: "That's true..."
Hirata: "There are no white dogs waiting for me at home."
Morita: "Not even Aya Ueto-san?" (they're making jokes about Softbank TV CMs X°D)
Hirata: "(pause) ...Not even her."
Morita: "Why that pause?"
Hirata: "I don't know why the pause, I was thinking that it'd be nice if she were there."
Naka: "You did sound quite disappointed."
Naka: "Anyway, from this talk I get it that Inoue-san is a huge fan of figures..."
Inoue: "Yes."
Naka: "Do you like toys?"
Inoue: "Yeah, I like them."
Naka: "Since you were little?"
Inoue: "Yeah.. Ever since I started getting enough money to make a living..."
Naka (laughing): "When was it?"
Morita: "You're realistic, aren't you."
Inoue: (continuing his speech) "...I started buying lots of them..."
Naka: "I see. How many do you own currently?"
Inoue: "Let me think... I guess about 50 or 60.. Maybe even more."
Naka: "Wow, I see."
Hirata: "I'm sure it's more, just consider that FOUR of them are Barnaby."
Inoue: "You're right."
Morita: "Please stop it, I might get depressed."
(Naka laughs)
Morita: "Do you have them all on display in your house?"
Inoue: "No. I don't really have space to showcase them..."
Morita: "I see, you just sleep with them."
Inoue: "Uhm, yeah, I guess.."
Morita: "What do you mean!?"
Naka: "Wait, wait! (laughs)"
Inoue: "No I mean, I have them inside boxes."
Morita: "I see."
Naka: "I see. So in a way you're able to put together your hobbies and profit."
Inoue: "Yeah."
Naka: "Sorry for saying 'profit' (laughs). That's really amazing though."
Inoue: "Yeah I guess so."
Naka: "And you also get figures before everyone else."
Morita: "It's not only figures, we also always get all kinds of Tiger & Bunny information from Sky High, for some reason."
Naka: "That's weird! So you have your secret connections?"
Inoue: "It's like, I'm told things and I don't even know that the others actually don't know them.."
Hirata: "And why is that?"
Inoue: "No idea. I always suppose everybody knows already..."
Hirata: "Even the story, we never knew anything of what would happen until we got the script of the following episode."
Morita: "Yeah."
Hirata: "I was seriously convinced that Kouji Yusa (Lunatic's seiyuu) was the bad guy all along."
Morita: "That's not Kouji Yusa, that's Lunatic."
Hirata: "The fact that he was a bad guy.."
Morita: (laughs) "Kouji Yusa, he said.."
Naka (laughs): "Lunatic, it is."
Hirata: "Yeah Lunatic, I thought he was a bad guy but in the end it wasn't really like that, and (turning to Inoue) you knew that, right?"
Morita: (since Inoue is touching figures) "Don't play around with figures, listen to what we're saying!"
Inoue: "But this part is a bit bent, I can't stand to see it like this."
Morita: "It's ok, we'll do something about it later with hot water or such."
Naka (laughing): "I really want to ask you more about Tiger & Bunny, but I wonder, is the atmosphere in the recording studio like it is here now?"
Morita: "Yeah, basically."
Naka: "Light and funny, like this?"
Hirata: "At the studio I'm actually serious."
(Inoue laughs because in Japanese Hirata said "bayai" instead of "baai" XD)
Morita: (in disbelief) "Eh?"
Naka: (laughing) "I'm not sure we can believe that.."
Morita: "He's always trying to be the first.."
Naka: "Taking the initiative?"
Morita: "Yeah, taking the initiative."
Naka: "I see, nice. And Inoue-san is like he is here?"
Hirata: "Exactly like this."
Morita: "Inoue-kun arrives in the morning with nonsense combinations like onigiri and Red Bull as his breakfast."
Hirata: "He does."
Inoue: "And every week Morita comments about it."
Morita: "Yeah, I always ask him 'do those two things taste good together?', but he replies that he doesn't have time."
Inoue: "Yeah, I have to eat them together.."
Morita: "Yeah, but that doesn't answer my question. I ask him whether they taste good together, and he replies that he has no time."
Naka: "Maybe inside his mind that actually makes sense."
Morita: "Yeah I guess so.."
Naka: "So you used to go to the studio without eating breakfast beforehand?"
Inoue: "Yes."
Naka: "What time did the Tiger & Bunny recordings start?"
Hirata: "Always at 10."
Morita: "In the morning."
Naka: "I see, in the morning. Isn't it tough for you, Hirata-san?"
Hirata: "Well.. it is tough, indeed. (Naka and Morita laugh) And this guy is always hyped up, you see? (points at Morita)"
Naka: "Yeah.."
Hirata: "At 10, you see, an ojisan is kinda.. it's hard to play a lively ojisan early in the morning."
Naka/Morita: (they laugh) "A lively ojisan..."
Naka: "You're calling yourself ojisan?"
Hirata: "I'm just glad the recording wasn't in winter."
Naka: "Because it wasn't hard to wake up?"
Hirata: "If it were now in this season it'd be even worse."
Morita: "Yeah, it's hard to wake up."
Naka: "Like, one day you might just.."
Morita (kinda cutting her off): "The recording was from spring to summer."
Naka: "I see, that's nice."
Morita: "Is all this really ok?" (he means it like "aren't we saying too much nonsense?" lmao)
Naka: (laughs) "Yeah I'm wondering that too actually.."
Naka: "Anyway, can you tell us how you felt when you were chosen as part of the cast of Tiger & Bunny?"
Morita: "As for me, there was an audition for Barnaby Brooks Jr..."
Naka: "Oh, so you auditioned?"
Morita: "I did, and.. for some reason, yeah, I was chosen. I really wonder why."
Naka: "Well, in the end, thinking about it now, aren't you fitting?"
Morita: "Thank you."
Naka: "Your acting was really good."
Morita: "But yeah, even when I was at the audition, I saw the script and I already thought that it sounded really interesting, and they had a picture with the character design sheets, and I thought, 'I'm sure I've seen this somewhere!'. I definitely knew that art style. So I read all those little names written there, and I saw 'Katsura' written in romaji."
Naka: "I see."
Morita: "Indeed! I thought, indeed, this is it! So basically I found out the chara design was by Masakazu Katsura-sensei, and that's when I got really excited. My tamashii nation got... (tamashii = spirit; he raises his voice) My tamashii nation got...!"
Hirata: (as to shut him up) "Yeah we got it!"
Morita: "People from the staff! Morita is speaking!"
Naka: (sarcastic) "Ok. Thank you Morita-san. Please stop doing things with your hands, Hirata-san. (he was kinda making a mocking gesture XD) What about you, Inoue-san?"
Inoue: "Yes, I also auditioned for my part, and well, don't boys always want to play the hero? I was really happy."
Naka: "I see."
Morita: "It felt good, didn't it?"
Inoue: "Yeah.. (then he leans forward since Morita just nods) ..What did?"
(Morita cracks up big time.)
Hirata: "Eh?"
Inoue: "What felt good?"
Naka (whispering on purpose): "I'm sure he means that playing the role felt good."
Hirata: "As in, getting to play the role of a hero."
Inoue: "Ah! Yeah, it felt good I guess."
Naka: "So it felt good to get the role, didn't it? I'm not sure we're getting there..."
Morita: "Maybe, you see... Regarding Sky High, the reason they chose him isn't the audition as much as it is his personality."
Naka: "You mean that he's perfect?"
Morita: "He's a natural airhead, a super one."
Naka: "Oh, so he's normally like that?"
Inoue: "Well, actually I'm doing it on purpose.."
Morita: "You liar!"
(Naka laughs)
Inoue: "It's the truth!"
Morita: "Liar!"
Inoue: "It's just that I end up slipping up and I look like an airhead."
Morita: "See, you ARE slipping up, aren't you!"
Hirata: "That means you ARE a natural airhead!"
Inoue: (as if suddenly understanding the point) "Aah..." (the others imitate him)
Morita: "See, he is."
Naka: "I see, so Inoue-san is a natural airhead."
Inoue: "Thank you very much."
Naka: (laughing) "Thank you very much. So, how was it for you, Hirata-san?"
Hirata: "Well, in my case it wasn't an audition.."
Naka: "Oh, I see! So I guess lots of people were there." (she means people of the staff)
Hirata: "Lots? Ah yes, anyway they told me to go there. The director was there, and the sound director too, I was called to this place where lots of important people had gathered, and I was told, 'anyway, this man (Kotetsu) is a no-good. (Naka laughs) He's middle-aged, and he's just good for nothing, really'."
Morita: "Good for nothing."
Hirata: (continues) "..'And we think that this no-good side of him just perfectly matches you. (Naka cracks up) Please do your best.' In other words I didn't know whether to be happy or not."
Morita: "So basically it was because of his personality."
Hirata: "I wonder."
Naka: "You mean that personality-wise he is identical?"
Morita. "Yes, I'm sure these two (points at them) were chosen because of their personality."
Hirata: "Are you trying to make only yourself look good?"
Morita: "Yeah."
Naka: "But if we're talking about personality, then it means that you're supposed to be an extremely handsome and cool character? Don't you think something's not right?"
Morita: "Absolutely not."
Naka: "UH? (laughs)"
Morita: "I don't see anything wrong."
Naka: "What an unpleasant person. (to the public) What do you all think?"
Morita: "(to the public) Why do you-"
Naka (cutting him off, she calls out to the public): "Who thinks he's identical? See, they're silent!"
Hirata: "No reaction."
Naka: "This was a zero, zero!
Morita (feigning surprise): "Eh? Eh? Am I out of place?"
Naka: (laughs) "Slightly. But don't worry, you're very popular!"
(people in the audience clap their hands)
Hirata: "A sympathetic applause."
Morita (to the public): "It's ok, you don't have to do it out of compassion, really."
Naka: (still laughing) "Really?"
Naka: "Anyway, after 26.. - 26, is it? - (Morita says "yes", but uhm, isn't it 25? Hellooo~ XD) ..episodes, are there any lines that especially struck you?"
Morita: "Oh, a lot. Like in the first episode, when Barnaby meets Kotetsu-san for the first time, when yeah, the suit here (points at the Barnaby figure) still had a barcode on the chest as the logo.. Today you see, I tried to come with the same color. (points at the pinkish red sleeves of his t-shirt)"
Hirata: "That's right, it's the same color!"
Naka: "That's true!"
Morita: "See? Same color."
Naka: "Nice."
Morita: "Annnd, when they meet, Kotetsu-san tells him, 'heroes are supposed to be like this', and Barnaby replies with a single word, (in Barnaby voice) 'outdated'. I like that line the best. It's just a few syllables, 'outdated', but it really feels like, you know.. a contemporary boy, and a man from the past, from the Showa.." (the Showa period was roughly from the '30s to the '80s, when they say "people from the Showa period" they normally mean people who were teenagers at the time and are currently over 35-40 years old)
Naka: "An ojisan."
Morita: (continues) "..that comes straight from the baby-boom period. I really like how that line showed this difference so well."
Naka: "Indeed, it's really amazing, from just a simple word, 'outdated', you already start to understand what kind of person Barnaby is."
Morita: "You really do. In the first half of Tiger & Bunny every single line was really thought carefully, you felt like no words were meaningless.. Well, this is the same in any series, but it's like, there are so many things crammed into the lines, like hints for the future.. And that was the hard part for us, since we didn't know anything. Except for some people (points at Inoue) who knew already, of course."
Hirata: "Ah!"
Inoue: "Ah!"
Morita: "What does 'ah!' mean here? Is that 'ah!' on purpose too? The things you claim to say on purpose are weird!"
Inoue: "I'm sorry."
(Morita giggles)
Naka: "(to the public) They really get along well, don't they! What line struck you, Inoue-san?"
Inoue: "Sky High has many lines that could be considered wise sayings, I mean, lots of impressive lines, and I.. uuhm.. well, I'd say... all of them, maybe.."
Morita: "All of them?"
Inoue: "Yeah."
Morita: "Isn't 'thank you, and thank you again' the most popular one right now?"
Inoue: "I guess that's the one I uhm, spoke the most, yeah."
Morita: "That's right."
Naka: "So it was the one you said more often. And I guess it was also used in this expo?"
Inoue: "Uhm.. (pauses to think, then suddenly) Yeah! (Naka laughs) Yeah, in that movie at the entrance I said it.. didn't I..? (looks at the audience) I did!"
Morita: "They just played it earlier. (laughing)"
Inoue: "I said it."
Naka: "He said it."
Inoue: (to the public) "I said it!" (actually he said "welcome, and welcome again", but oh well 8D)
Naka: "Thank you, and thank you again."
Inoue: "Thank you, and thank you again."
Hirata: "Everybody is using it!"
Naka: "Eh?"
Hirata: "For example the fans on Twitter."
Naka: "I see."
Morita: "Of all the Tiger & Bunny lines, in the end that was the first one that got popular. 'Thank you, and thank you again'."
Naka: "Yeah, and somehow, it kind of makes you feel warm, it feels good."
Morita: "Yeah, it's interesting."
Naka: "Thank you, and thank you again."
Morita: "Like, you wonder why the 'and'."
Naka: (laughs) "Well, you can always add Red Bull to it I guess. Well then, lastly, Hirata-san, what line impressed you?"
Hirata: "You mean one of my lines?"
Naka: "Are there other people you want to mention?"
Hirata: "If it's other people, I'd mention Sky High's 'eh? eh?'. (Morita laughs) It's a good one. 'Eh? Eh?'" (you know, when he looks left and right in surprise XD)
Morita: (imitating it) "Eh?"
Hirata: "I like that one."
Inoue: "It's one of my ad libs."
Naka: "Really!?"
Inoue: "Yes."
Morita: "Really? Was it an ad lib?"
Inoue: "There was nothing in the script."
Hirata: "But the picture was moving, wasn't it? So you decided to put the 'eh'?"
Inoue: "Yes."
Morita: "I see."
Naka: "I see!"
Hirata: "I see, I shouldn't have mentioned it then."
Morita: "Now it sounds like he did something good."
Naka: (to the public) "What about you, I guess you didn't know this either, did you? (back to the seiyuu) This 'eh' also adds more to his personality, I guess."
Morita: "Yeah."
Naka: "Sky High gives that kind of impression."
Hirata: "Those scenes are maybe the ones where you start seeing how much of a natural airhead Sky High really is."
Naka: "Yeah."
Inoue: "Yeah, so I thought I should use that kind of ad libs."
Naka: "That's really amazing."
Inoue: "Thank you."
Naka: "And Hirata-san, speaking about your chara's lines, are there any that struck you?"
Hirata: "Yeah, for example, I really like that episode, how it develops.."
Naka: "What episode?"
Morita: "What episode?"
Hirata: "You know, when they're doing that close coverage on Barnaby.."
Morita: "Ah I see."
Hirata: "The episode where they kick the bomb."
Morita: (as if suddenly understanding) "Ah, yeah!"
Hirata: "My explanation was awfully approximate."
Morita: "Indeed. I'm sure everybody understood, though."
Hirata: "And that time, you know.."
Naka: "It's one of the episodes in the first half of the series, isn't it?"
Morita: "Yes."
Hirata: "And Hero TV is doing that close coverage on Barnaby, so they ask everybody to say something nice about him, and like, Sky High says 'thank you, and thank you again', and then Taiten says something (Inoue giggles), and then the camera goes zoom, and he goes, 'nothing really'." (obviously he means when Kotetsu has nothing to say about Barnaby in that ep XD)
(Morita laughs)
Naka: "I see."
Hirata: "'Nothing really'. The way the comment is just thrown there, I thought that was an excellent job."
(everybody laughs)
Naka: "You just nonchalantly praised your acting, didn't you."
Morita: "Yeah."
Hirata: "'Nothing really'."
Morita: "It's definitely not something that can be broadcast." (he means that Hero TV couldn't broadcast it)
Naka: "Yeah."
Hirata: "And also, still in that episode, the buildings' one." (when Kotetsu "explains" the skyline of the city X°D I admit it's maybe my favorite line, lol)
Inoue: "Oh, I really like that one."
Hirata: "Right? I like buildings."
Inoue: "I... don't."
Hirata: "I see."
Inoue: "Sorry."
Hirata: "Uh? I thought he was supporting my joke."
Inoue: "I was kind of thinking to."
Naka: "It's a bit unclear whether your opinions are clashing or not."
Morita: "They're not clashing."
Naka: "Morita-san, what should we do in such a situation?"
Morita: "Uhm, I think it's ok to ignore them."
Hirata: "Yes."
Morita: "Yes, it's the right choice. Let's move on."
Naka: "Ok. So, the recording went on for about six months, right?"
Morita: "Yes."
Naka: "If you have any amusing anecdotes about it, I'm sure everyone would like to hear them."
Morita: "Wellll, there's a lot, I'd say.. Like.. not really the 'eh? eh?' one, but, like, there are many lines that got popular among fans, and I think maybe a good half of them are actually ad libs by the seiyuu."
Naka: "Eeeh?"
Morita: "Rock Bison's 'ushi!' too ("ushi" is kinda like "yay!/good!" but also means "beef"), it's something Taiten-san shoved in."
Naka: "I see!"
Morita: "Also, Fire-neesan's (they call Nathan "fire neesan", like "big sister") 'fire-something', like 'this is fire-wonderful'. That 'fire' is something Tsuda-san came up with."
Naka: "Ah, so it wasn't in the script!"
Morita: "It wasn't. Tsuda-san actually tried to use lots of different ones."
Naka: "Ad libs?"
Morita: "Yes, he tried lots of ad libs, but they always rejected them."
Hirata: "The majority of them actually got rejected."
Morita: "Yeah, they did."
Naka: "But the 'fire' one went through?"
Morita: "Yeah, that managed to stay".
Hirata: "Yeah, it stayed."
Naka: "That's really wonderful though, I mean, all of you tried to improve the series, to add personality to the characters."
Morita: "Yeah, and even when it comes to the normal lines that are in the script, as I said earlier, they can be very meaningful. For example Agnes-san, when she says 'it's coming steadily', the word 'steadily' (in Japanese "gun-gun") actually has a hidden background. It's the word that Agnes secretly liked the most at that time. It was like her own personal fixation." (Sorry, I admit I don't remember what ep the line is from so I don't know how to translate it properly, because it could mean a few different things *failz* Take the version I'm using here with a grain of salt. Usually it's used when something is growing on you or when a feeling/sensation is getting stronger)
Naka: "It was like, her (in unison with Hirata) fad." (in Japanese it's what they literally call "my boom")
Morita: "Fad, yeah. 'Steadily' was her personal fad. So, because of this hidden background, from about that episode on she often goes 'it's coming steadily, it's coming steadily'. (Naka laughs) Also, the director was actually very fussy about that 'steadily', and he stopped the scene a few times saying 'it's not *that* 'steadily', it's not said that way'."
Naka: (laughing) "Wait, wait.."
Hirata: "He thought a lot about it, didn't he."
Morita: "He did."
Hirata: "About which one was the right 'steadily'."
Naka: "He must be very particular."
Morita: "He is. Apparently there is a correct way to say 'steadily'."
Naka: "I see, so the 'steadily' that was eventually used in the episode.."
Hirata: "Yes, it's the one that got accepted."
Morita: "That's why I really love that 'steadily'. Like, oh here it is, it's coming."
Naka: "Like, you're waiting eagerly for the word to be said."
Morita: "Yeah, (imitating Agnes) 'it's coming steadily, it's coming steadily'."
Naka: "I see. Inoue-san, what do you think about this 'steadily'?"
Inoue: "Steadily? (Morita and Naka crack up.) Steadily... Yeah, it was nice."
(Morita and Naka crack up more)
Morita: "That guy fails at ad libs."
Naka: (laughing) "Sorry."
Morita: "He can't even reply to questions normally."
Naka: "I see. Well then Inoue-san, tell us an amusing anecdote."
Inoue: "An amusing anecdote... Usually at the end of every recording we used to get the script for the following episode, and of course everybody was extremely curious, so we all ended up reading it in the lobby together. And at the time we recorded episode 23, Hirata-san received the script for episode 24, and after reading it to the end (giggles) he said 'what, Kotetsu died.', (Morita and Naka laughs) and I thought, 'Hirata-san..!'" (as in, he wanted to say something XD)
Hirata: "Did you already know that I would show up again?"
Inoue: "Yes."
Naka: "Eehh? Only Inoue-san, again? You two didn't know anything?"
Morita: "Because you know, we used to read it all together, the lobby of the studio was kinda like a manga café (Naka laughs).."
Hirata: (amused at the choice of words) "Like a manga café.."
Morita: "..because we read it all together."
Naka: "Because you were curious to see what would happen and couldn't wait, right?"
Morita: "Yeah, we couldn't wait."
Naka: (to the public) "Even the people involved in the making couldn't wait."
Morita: "So we were all together, and when someone said 'so is this what happens!?' Inoue-kun just started telling what would happen in the next episode. And immediately everybody got super angry and went 'don't say it, don't say it!!'. Kaida-san was so angry. Agnes-san. (Yuuko Kaida is Agnes' seiyuu)"
Inoue: "Because you see, I.."
Morita: "(imitating Kaida) Don't say it~!"
Inoue: "..I do tend to do that."
Naka: "Wha..!"
Hirata (cracking up): "What's with that guy!"
Inoue: "That guy!"
Morita: "That guy is you! It's you! Seriously.."
Inoue: "Thank you."
Naka (laughs): "Inoue-san, your personality, it's just amazing.."
Morita: "It's your event."
Naka: "I see. Anyway Kotetsu, Hirata-san, can I ask you too?"
Hirata: "What?"
Naka: "An amusing anecdote. For example if you happened to slip up."
Hirata: (turns to Morita who is amused) "Did I slip up?"
Morita: (laughs) "You didn't. But just, if you have some similarly amusing story."
Naka: "For example, did anything funny happen?"
Hirata: "Well, we already talked about the ad libs so I have nothing else."
Naka: "Really?"
Hirata: (turns to Morita) "Were the recordings so amusing?"
Naka: "Uh?"
Morita: (opens his mouth surprised) "Uh? Weren't they amusing?"
Hirata: "Let me think, an amusing anecdote, an amusing anecdote.."
Naka: "Yes."
Hirata: "Uhm, I really can't think of anything except for the ad libs."
Morita: "But Kotetsu-san doesn't even have that many."
Hirata: "Yeah, I have none. Many people seem to think that the next episode previews are ad libs, or that my 'daa daa' are ad libs too, but it's all written in the script. There's 'daa' written down."
Morita: "Yeah."
Naka: "So you're just reading it? 'Daa daa'?"
Hirata: "Yeah, I'm the kind of person that only reads what's written in the script."
Morita: "Say, 'daa' is.."
Hirata: "'Daa', just there."
Morita: "..Kotetsu's recurring interjection, isn't it?"
Hirata: "When the director told me 'daa' is Kotetsu's recurring interjection I thought it was unusual, it's not something you hear a lot."
Naka: (laughs) "I guess if it were a bit longer... It's quite short."
Hirata: "Yeah, just 'da'. So I wondered.. If it's something he says all the time, how should I pronounce it? In the second half of the series it started coming natural to me though."
Naka: "I see."
Hirata: "In the beginning it was pretty hard."
Morita: "Yeah."
Hirata: "When he was angry, when he was in trouble, it was always 'da da da' in lots of different situations."
Morita: "The first time the 'da' came out was during a fight. So it was kinda natural I guess.."
Hirata: "Like a shout to cheer yourself up".
Morita: "Yeah, it gave that impression."
Naka: "Kinda like, 'daa!'".
Morita: "As in.."
Hirata (cutting them off): "Not exactly that 'daa'."
Naka: "He said it...!" (she's commenting on the fact that he's being fussy about the "daa" XD)
Hirata: "There are different ways to say 'steadily'."
Morita: "And different ways to say 'da'."
Hirata: "Different 'da's."
Naka: "The director is really particular..."
Hirata: "He is."
Naka: "So the 'da' that was chosen as correct is the one that was used in the final version?"
Hirata: "Yeah, probably."
Naka: "An angry 'da', a sad 'da'.. There are many 'da's basically."
Morita: "Like, the regretful 'da' is really something that grips your heart. I really like Kotetsu's regretful 'da'."
Hirata: "Thanks."
Naka: (turns to the public) "I'm sure it's something all of you felt. (to the seiyuu) Thank you very much."
Hirata: "Thank you."
Naka: "And next year Tiger & Bunny... will have a movie!"
(everybody claps their hands and goes "yaaay")
Inoue: (feigning shock) "What!?"
(A guy comes in with a panel showing the new poster made to advertise the movie)
Hirata: (to Inoue) "Oioioioi."
Morita: "Thank you. (takes the panel) Here it is."
Hirata: "By the way, how long have you known about the movie? Since before the summer?"
Inoue: "No, actually I think I was told around the same time as all of you..."
Morita: "Since when?"
Hirata: "Since the end of last year?"
Inoue: (giggles) "At the end of last year ...?"
Morita: "Did you already know around the time you had the audition?"
Inoue: "...Isn't that even before we started recording?"
Hirata: "With you anything is possible."
Morita: "It is."
Naka: "So, Morita-san is holding up the panel again."
Morita: "Take a look at this!"
Naka: "Here it is, movie scheduled to premiere in 2012!"
Hirata: "Please remember that it's an estimate."
Morita: "Yes, it's an estimate."
Hirata: "Many things can happen."
Morita: "That sounds scary."
Naka: "But you still don't know anything about the contents, right?"
Morita: "We know nothing at all."
Hirata: "Of course we don't, we didn't even know the contents of the following week's episodes!"
Naka: "Maybe Inoue-san knows something?"
Hirata: "Do you? Who's the culprit?"
(Naka laughs)
Morita: "The culprit? You just ask about the culprit and not about what kind of incident happens?"
Inoue: "Well, I guess some villains might show up."
Naka: "Ahh, I see, I see."
(Morita laughs)
Inoue: (ironic, since he's stating the obvious) "They might fight."
Hirata: (also ironic) "I also have the feeling it could be like that."
Morita: "I do too. I think many people might share this opinion."
Naka: "I think so too."
Morita: "Maybe you know, all the people watching Ustream now might be thinking the same."
Naka: "The people in the audience here too."
Morita: "Yeah, everybody."
Naka: "So, since it hasn't been decided yet, you can try and say what kind of story you would like to see."
Hirata: "They might adopt our ideas."
Naka: "I'm not sure about that... But you never know, maybe some things."
Morita: "I see."
Naka: "I'm not sure of course."
Morita: "I'll try to think about it. Uhm, I want to say something interesting.. But you see, Barnaby became his (points at Hirata) partner again.."
Naka: "Yeah."
Morita: "But he only lasts one minute!"
Naka: "Yeah."
Morita: "Even before this event, you see, when we were discussing about it, even before actually coming here Hirata-san was already 'ahh, I'm tired'. (Naka laughs) See, he already lost his hundred power."
Hirata: "After make-up and getting changed I was already dead tired."
Morita: "Yeah, he was, even for something like this."
Hirata: "It might turn into a surprising movie, like, into a very idle movie."
Naka: "An idle movie??"
Morita: "We might just put together a duo with Kaede-chan, and.."
Hirata: "Who does, who does?"
Morita: "Barnaby, with Kaede-chan."
Hirata: "And I'm the manager?"
Naka: "Like, Kaede.. Kaede & Barbie?"
Hirata: "Barbie?"
Morita: "Barbie? Barbie?? (Naka cracks up) Why do I have to become a dress-up doll!?"
Hirata: "What's 'Kaede & BARBIE'?"
Morita: "Barbie?"
Naka: (still laughing) "Sorry, sorry... Kaede & Bunny, sorry..."
Morita: "What happened to you today? It's embarrassing, senpai."
Naka: "I'm really sorry!"
Morita: "Do you know that this is being broadcast all over the world via Ustream?"
Naka: "This is bad."
Morita: "It is bad! What will happen to Aoni Production?" (it's her agency)
Naka: "Ssshh!"
Morita: (to the public) "Sshh, don't say anything."
Naka: "Let's pretend nothing happened. So, Kaede & Bunny."
Morita: "Bunny."
Naka: "Is it ok now?"
Morita: "K & B."
Hirata: "Somehow it doesn't feel right."
Morita: "Really?"
Naka: "What would you suggest then, Hirata-san?"
Hirata: "I still think we should go with Saitou & Barnaby."
(Morita laughs)
Morita: "Well, it does sound nice." (it's a joke they came up with during the Hero Awards event X°D)
Hirata: "It does."
Morita: "Saitou & Barnaby."
Naka: "Well.."
Hirata: "Uhm, let me think what I'd like to see... First of all, we might start with Earth being threatened by radioactivity. (Morita and Naka laugh) And then we heroes must go to Iscandar to retrieve the device to cleanse Earth of the radioactivity." (he's quoting Space Battleship Yamato, lol)
Morita: "That's the Space Battleship-esque Yamato, isn't it."
Hirata: "The Space Battleship-*esque* Yamato? (giggles)"
Morita: "It is."
Naka: "Yeah, I mean, even the name of the place is the same, isn't that bad?"
Morita: "Yeah..."
Hirata: "I guess I shouldn't have said 'Iscandar'. (Morita nods) Where should we set it then?"
Morita: "Instead of Iscandar, somewhere called Tsukuecandar. (it's an extremely lame pun, later explained by Hirata, because "Iscandar" is "Isukandaru" in Japanese, but "isu" also means "chair", so he said "Tsukuekandaru" because "tsukue" means table... yeah it's LAME, lol) Ok, let's move on! (Naka laughs) The movie is coming out in 2012!"
Naka: "Nice one, Bunny-chan!" (she means the way he changed the topic, not the joke of course, lol)
Hirata: "You know, this is being broadcast all over the world."
(from this point on I don't have the video anymore, so I'm only translating based on the sound T___T)
Naka: "That's true, Bunny-chan, all over the world, you're in trouble!"
Hirata: "Uhm, now..."
Morita: "Instead of me...! Wait, really? I am?"
Hirata: "...you just made a pun with 'chair' and 'table', didn't you..."
Morita: "Yeah I did..."
Naka: "If you keep talking about it it will get even more embarrassing, so let's stop."
Morita: "I just started sweating."
Hirata: "This is Aoni Production."
Morita: "Please avoid that."
Naka: "Not that, please."
Morita: "It was my blunder. Anyway, we really have no idea what the movie will be like."
Naka: "Yeah, but we can't wait to watch it!"
Morita: "Also, it will be two movies."
Naka: "Ah, is that already decided?"
Morita: "Yeah, two movies. We still don't know whether it will be two connected parts.."
Naka: "Or two different ones."
Morita: (continues) "..or two completely different ones, like with different incidents. We don't know yet.."
Naka: "I see."
Hirata: (to Inoue) "What about this?"
Morita: "About this?"
Inoue: "This, uhm, I guess it might be two connected ones."
Hirata: "See, he says they're connected."
Inoue: "Yeah."
Hirata: "Then it means I can't be Tiger in the first one, the first part."
Naka: "Why?"
Hirata: "It only lasts one minute, I have to save it for the last part."
Morita: "Well, you might still use it in the beginning. How do you want to use it?"
Naka: "But if it's two... Ah, I see, since they're connected you mean you should leave it for the ending? The second one?"
Hirata: "Ah, but after a few hours I can use it again, right?"
Morita: "Yeah. What do you plan to do then? It's one hour."
Hirata: "Maybe the recovery time is also shorter? You use it, and then it vanishes, and you use it and it vanishes again, like a blinker."
Morita: "I see, that's a nuisance though."
Hirata: "It's annoying I guess."
Inoue: "Ah.."
Naka: "Inoue-san is saying 'ah'."
Inoue: "But I guess for the user it's useful."
Hirata: "For the user?"
Morita: (laughs) "For the user? You...!"
Inoue: "If you could use it one minute, then rest one minute and then use it again one minute..."
Naka: "But isn't that a bit too much? Too little time to rest..."
Inoue: "I thought it would be useful.."
Morita: (still laughing) "Wait, you use it one minute, but then if you have to rest what do you tell the enemy? 'Ah sorry, wait one minute, just one'."
(Naka laughs)
Hirata: "Yeah, 'just wait, wait!', and he's like, always walking around with a sandglass."
Morita: "'Just one minute, one minute, wait a moment!'"
Naka: "Well, he could always let Sky High fight in the meanwhile, after all."
Morita: (laughs) "And he'd say 'one minute, and one minute again'. (Hirata laughs) '30 seconds are left, and 30 seconds again'. With just this line..."
Hirata: "Yeah, somehow just with this line we already got a story."
Morita/Naka: "...We got a story!"
Hirata: "We do!"
Naka: (to the public) "Eh, are you really ok with this?"
Morita: "Is it ok?"
Hirata: "Also, we could.."
Naka: "They're tilting their heads..."
Morita: "I bet."
Hirata: "We can show the bull as well."
Morita: "Ah, the bull."
Inoue: "The anime didn't have an episode dedicated to Rock Bison, so we'd like to see Taiten-san a bit more."
Morita: "You're right."
Naka: "Ah, that's nice."
Hirata: "So there wasn't.. a Rock Bison episode?"
Inoue: "There wasn't."
Morita: "Exactly. None."
Hirata: "Ah, I see."
Morita: "There was nothing thorough."
Hirata: "Not to mention, he was instantly KO'd in the fight against Fujiwara-kun." (Keiji Fujiwara is Jake's seiyuu)
Morita: "Yeah, it was an instant. Also, Rock Bison-san was never featured a lot, but he was like, supposed to be in love with Agnes-san, and such. It would be interesting to delve into this matter too."
Naka: "Yeah. Movies are long, so you can dig into this and many other things."
Hirata: "But then wouldn't it just become a love story?"
Naka: "Wait..."
Inoue: "Why not?"
Morita: "Isn't everyone curious about how Blue Rose's crush will develop?"
Naka: "Aah, (to the public) I bet you're all a bit curious, aren't you?"
Hirata: "Well, I think they'd be VERY curious."
Naka: "See, they're all nodding."
Morita: "Father, father.. what was that?"
Hirata: "Ah, one hundred.. ah, something like '100 ways to make a divorced father fall for you'."
Morita: "Ah, was it. I wonder where they sell that book.."
Hirata: "How much would such a book cost?"
Morita: "That was really interesting."
Naka: (laughing) "You all seem extremely curious about it."
Naka: "Anyway, we could seriously go on talking forever, at this rate. I think we understood that you all get along very well, don't you? (Morita laughs) Eh, you're laughing...?"
Morita: "Do we get along?"
Naka: "You do!"
Hirata: (regarding Inoue) "Uhm, he really looks like he has an objection."
Naka: "Do you have anything to say, Inoue-san?"
Inoue: "No no! In the end... we all went to eat together, didn't we? (Morita and Naka crack up) After the recording."
Morita: "That's right."
Naka: "Wait wait, do you mean every week?"
Hirata: "Not really every week."
Morita: "Around the ending, yeah.."
Inoue: "We used to go almost every week, in the second half of the series."
Hirata: "And he wasn't even reluctant, he was actually all happy."
Inoue: "Yeah, I was happy that I was invited."
(the others laugh)
Naka: "Ah, you were kind of happy!"
Inoue: "Yeah, I was really happy."
Morita: "You see, after every recording most people had other business.."
Naka: "Ah I see, you barely had time for lunch."
Morita: "In the second half of the series everybody was less busy, so we could like, go eat lunch together.. And for some reason, everyone was eating the same thing."
Naka: "Ahh... But why? What did you eat?"
Morita: "What was that... beef stroganoff?"
Inoue: "Yeah."
Hirata: "In other words, hayashi rice (hash and rice)."
Morita: "Yeah."
Naka: "Ah, and you all ate the same thing?"
Morita: "It's because it was the best food, so everyone just ended up ordering that."
Naka: "So every week you all ate hayashi rice?"
Morita: "Yeah."
Hirata: "Yeah, the second half of the series was like that basically."
Naka: "That's quite curious."
Morita: "Everybody ate the same food."
Naka: "And.. wasn't there anyone that like, wanted to get curry or something else instead?"
Morita: "In the beginning it happened a few times, but then they realized hayashi rice was better so in the end everybody got that."
Naka: "So it was like, you didn't know if you enjoyed more going to the studio or eating.."
Morita: "Yeah, or eating hayashi rice. We were kinda like a family."
Naka: "Oh I see, that's really wonderful. I'm sure the cozy atmosphere among them also shows in the actual series."
Naka: "Also, there is a chance that with the movie release Tamashii Nations might create some new figures too."
Inoue: "Ooh."
Naka: "Please look forward to it. Ah, Inoue-san seems very interested too. Everybody, Inoue-san too, look forward to it."
(they laugh)
Inoue: "Yes."
Naka: "Yes!"
Hirata: "What was this 'eh'?" (he's referring to Inoue's surprised expression)
Morita: "I think it was a real 'eh?'."
Naka: "He's Sky High-san after all. (they laugh) Anyway, thank you very much, everybody!"
Morita/Hirata/Inoue: "Thank you very much!"
Naka: "Sorry for this ending!"
Hirata: "That was to wrap it up, wasn't it?"
Naka: "Yeah, I tried to."
Morita: "I think we ran out of time."
Naka: "Yeah, actually they tried to warn us 3 times already."
Hirata: "Really? Where did that come from?"
Morita: "See, from there (points at somewhere). I saw it but ignored it."
Naka: "And thank you for holding up the panel, Morita-san."
Morita: "You should really look forward to this movie!"
Naka: "Yes everybody (to the public), you should!"
Morita/Hirata/Inoue: "We will do our best!"
(hands clapping from the audience)
Naka: "The people here are clapping their hands. Well then, lastly, please leave a message for the audience. Hirata-san."
Hirata: "Uh!? This time I'm the first one?"
Naka: "Yes!"
(Morita and Naka laugh)
Hirata: "Thank you very much for coming here today! Thank you for watching the live broadcast too. I admit I'm really surprised that even though the series is over its popularity is not decreasing in the least. As for the movie, we really.. well, except for him (points at Inoue), we really know nothing more than you all do, so we don't know when it will be finished and when we will start recording, but... you know, we're as excited about it as you all are, so we'll do our best to bring the characters to life again. Look forward to it!"
(hands clapping)
Naka: "Ok, Morita-san next."
Morita: "Yes. Uhh, well, today we came to Akihabara for Tamashii Nation 2011, and yeah, there are also people watching this on Ustream, but yeah, Tiger & Bunny's popularity has spread all over Japan, it's really popular. When we recorded the last episode we were also a bit sad, but now that the movies are coming out I can play Barnaby once again, and I can meet everybody.. all the people in the staff again, and, most importantly, I can share the happiness that comes from watching this interesting series with all of you once again, that's something I'm really looking forward to. Also, the goods too, they're coming out one after the other and they're really amazing. Even if you couldn't come here, maybe they show something on the website, but really, the quality is really stunning, so yeah, even the goods released are very interesting, so I hope you'll still keep on supporting it for a long time. Thank you!"
(hands clapping)
Naka: "Thank you! And last, Inoue-san."
Inoue: "Yeah. Uhm, well, this time it's a figure festival, and Sky High is also getting a figurearts release, but.. uhm.. there's a piece of information I got recently..."
Hirata: "Again?"
Naka: "Wow, some petit info!"
Morita: "You, again..."
Inoue: "You see, apparently.. the Sky High figurearts will come with a broken horn version too..!"
(cheering from the audience)
Morita: "Woooh!!"
Hirata: "Really!?"
Inoue: "Everybody hang him! (Morita and Naka laugh) Hang him!" (he means as in, how Jake did to Sky High XD)
Hirata: "Hang him!"
Morita: "Really??"
Inoue: "Yes, apparently."
Morita: "A broken horn version!?"
Inoue: "I was told by Bandai recently and I said it right away, 'so you can really hang him!' (Morita and Naka laugh) Apparently."
Morita: "Wow!"
Naka: "I see!"
Inoue: "The movies are going to be released too, and lots of figures are also coming out, so please support the series!"
Naka: "Ok. Thank you!"
Inoue: "Thank you!"
Naka: "So, today's special guests were (she starts laughing) Kotetsu T. Kaburagi.."
Hirata: "You're laughing already. Say it properly!"
Morita: "Let's say it properly."
Hirata: "Get a hold of yourself."
Morita: "Let's say it properly, senpai".
Naka: "Sorry, it's because I got it wrong earlier.."
Hirata: "We know."
Naka: "What did I say, again?"
Morita: "Uhm, it was.."
Hirata: "Something like Kashiwagi. Katsu.."
Morita: "I couldn't really get it."
Naka: "Did I say 'Katsuragi'?"
Morita: "And actually this morning, when we were in the company's car you even asked if 'Kaburagi' was ok. (Naka laughs) Say it properly."
Naka: "It's not like that, (to the public) I was behaving properly!"
Morita: "Which one is your camera?"
Naka: "That one."
Morita: "Then look at it and say it again."
Naka: "Yes, I'm sorry. Kotetsu T. Kaburagi, Wild Tiger's seiyuu, Hiroaki Hirata-san! (she's still laughing) Barnaby Brooks Jr.'s seiyuu, Masakazu Morita-san, and Keith Goodman, Sky High's seiyuu, Gou Inoue-san! Thank you very much!"
everybody: "Thank you very much!"
Naka: "Everybody clap your hands! Thank you very much. (then they stand up to leave) Ah, Morita-san just spilled the water."
Hirata: "What a mess!"
Naka: "It's ok!"
Hirata: "It's all wet."
Naka: "Thank you very much for everything. Another applause, please! Thank you very much."
She's still laughing, then she stops and wraps up the talk show, explaining that it will be available on the net until Nov 29th at 23.
The end!
Pretty crazy, wasn't it? Lol. I seriously cracked up laughing more than a few times X°D
Things you can understand from the talk show:
-Morita just loves to talk. There's no need to even check to realize that he's the one who spoke the most. He also seems to like to pick on Inoue on purpose, whilst Hirata for example seems to do it more naturally, lol. Oh, and his jokes are lame (god the chair/table one... that was really shameful, lmao)
-Hirata does indeed naturally resemble Kotetsu, at least the way he speaks X°D Also, I love how he makes fun of people with a straight face, it almost looks like he's not doing it on purpose but of course he is, though he sounds less mean than Morita.
-Inoue... I just like him more and more every time he speaks, LMAO. Seriously, the guy is just SO random... Even the others couldn't help cracking up whenever he was speaking. And yeah, he does naturally resemble Sky High, I mean, personality wise. If you can understand Japanese I recommend following him on Twitter, he'll make your days brighter, lol.
Anyway, apart from the crack, I think it was interesting because we also got to know a few behind-the-scenes pieces of information that they didn't really disclose anywhere else (as far as I know, at least), like the ad libs, the character planning and such :D
Oh well, I have nothing else to comment that I didn't put in the actual translation already 8D
I hope you liked it, and feel free to comment on the dorkiness, I admit I'm curious to know what other people think X°D
Also, if something is unclear please tell me. To me everything sounds obvious because I listened to the original one, but I do think it's kind of messy, so if some things are not clear just tell me and I'll try to fix the translation! :D
