The forgotten blog

Wow, it's been forever since I've been on here. Facebook is just so much more fun. Well, here goes nothing, I hope I dont bore you all. Fall semester started for me on monday, It was supposed to start a week before, but I got invited by my political science professor Kenny to have a once in a lifetime oppertunity and blog about the democratic national convention in denver. I figured what the hell since I'm only in community college, and the first week of class is usually a waste anyway, and I packed up my stuff and drove all the way to denver.

The convention was AMAZING!! I was so star struck the whole time I was there. I got to talk with and interview senators, congressmen, and governors and all kinds of important people. I must admit I felt a little bit out of place while I was there, I really dont know that much more about politics than your average joe schmoe on the street, but it was still alot of fun. Kenny would point out all kinds of important people to me, and I would shake their hands and talk for a while, and even have a cigarette or a beer with them. Turns out most politics takes place over a few beers anyways. I got to sit front row center for the opening ceramonies of the convention, I was in the press box for Bill Clintons speech and was close enough to almost touch him, and even though I was way up in the nosebleed seats at invesco field I got to see our next president Barack Obama give his acceptance speech. The city of denver was amazing, when I wasent at a function or blogging about what happend that day I got to explore the city. There were all kinds of protests and demonstrations along the main road in town, the shopping was amazing, and there was just so much to see, I really wish I had more than a week to explore. I loved the whole experience so much that I'm sorta thinking about changing my major to political science.

Now I'm back in school and enjoying myself here. I'm taking four classes this semester, Intro to american education, us history 2020, math for liberal arts 2, and world religions, and if I play my cards right I should be graduated by the end of spring semester with honours, and then it's off to real college. The trip to denver sort of wiped out my funds so I am broke as all hell right now, Just waiting for my financial aid checks to come in. Untill that happens I'll just be sitting at home, going to work, and going to school.

With the tropical storm that just blew through town my girlfriends road to her house is inaccessable so she is staying with me untill it stops being a lake. It's kind of cool having her around, sort of a trial run to see how it would work out if we ever actually moved in together. Thats about it for now, I have a young democrats meeting to go to now, This has been kind of theraputic though, I might just have to start writing in this thing again.
