hereThe black leather boots tapped against the road as he walked into the stables.
He looked around.
He was home.
Draven Lasher smiled, it had been so long since he had been here.
But here he was, and he was loving it. He had seen Collie, he had seen Judas, he had seen Diana...........he had seen Caitlin. His true love. He had kissed her. She kissed back....no. There are other things to think about now.
He tall, handsome man from the future set his bags down. A charming smirk crept onto his face as he looked around. There would be plenty of time to settle in. For now...he wanted to see the stables. This place always relaxed him, both as a hyperactive child, and as a calm, brooding adult.
And so...he sat against the wall, closing his eyes, at last relaxed, he knew his mother would know where to find him.
The huge red stallion had come through the gates at near blinding speed. The rider's long hair fluttered in the wind. Collie had come home for a while. Diana was strapped in a snuggle pack in front and Rachael was hanging on for dear life yelling, "GO HOSSIE GO!"
The reins were flicked ever so lightly and the massive beast halted. Collie had a meeting to attend in the gatehouse. Gancanna lowered himself to allow her to dismount comfortably with the two girls. She patted his rump and he headed to the main stables. She took a deep breath and headed inside. The little house had been cleaned up and freshly painted within the last month.
Colleen placed a sleeping Diana into a cradle in a downstairs bedroom. She sat with Rachael on the sofa reading her a story. She anticipated her coming visitor with mixed emotions. When they arrived both of the girls would be safely tucked in and the room warded so no sound would pass through with the door closed.
A woman's heart is a deep as an ocean, filled with loves and hates, desires and needs. Collie's heart was no exception, she tried to steel herself against old feelings rising again.
Collie got a call requesting that the meeting be held on neutral ground. She was frustrated at that point. Her plan had included having both girls with her, but that was out of the question considering he wanted to meet at a seedy bar. She should have been prepared for that, but she wasn't.
When it was all said and done, she wondered why she had gone in the first place. He already knew about Diana, she'd come to see him. It made Collie wonder, if she should have stayed away and said nothing. She thought about it, but regret is often far harder to deal with than any other emotion in the spectrum.
