Jack was thoroughly confused. All this talk about a "ghost ship" and he doesn't find out as much as a snippet. Hell. It wasn't like this was going to be terribly important in the future. However, he left Norrington's cabin without rushing- just in case that there was something else the Commodore had to say.
There was nothing else.
Jack dug into his pocket and surfaced with his watch.
Christ!
It was nearing 6 (on land time) and this dinner it seemed that he had been planning for months now (though it was only for two days by a serious count) was almost upon him.
Jack looked up at the bleary sky. If this weather kept up, everyone would have to eat in the great cabin.
There went all of his plans on being unconventional.
As Jack made his way back to the Eury he wondered if everyone was indeed coming to this party. He wanted to be as hospitable to all the newcomers as possible- he knew how it felt to be unwelcome on may different occasions.
As he was hoisted onto deck he saw Killick standing near the quarterdeck nervously polishing silver.
"Killick! Killick there!" he called. "Are you preparing the dinner, my good man?"
