"Let me be by myself in the evening breeze and listen to the murmur of the cottonwood trees."

A good thing about this crazy hellish weather is that I sleep less, and thus my fandom evenings get longer. This is how I spent last night (with the occasional break to stand a bit under the air conditioning):

There was one lovely moment when Gene Hunt said he loved pink wafers and I squealed "me too, me too!" at the screen. :D

Today a long-awaited package arrived from Amazon:

The first book on the left is actually a gift from my cousin and her boyfriend that I found on the kitchen table when I came back home, because they're adorable, and it deserved a picture. I finished The Ocean At The End Of The Lane in two hours, and let me tell you, it was terrifying. You know those nightmares you get when you're a kid, so real and detailed in all the ways they're gruesome? In other words, think Coraline for adults. I'm so going to sleep with a nightlight tonight. That is, if I manage to fall asleep.

Not to say I didn't like it, I thought it was brilliant, one of his best. But I'm also seriously thinking of putting it in the freezer.
