What a relief! Finally finished and e-mailed the affidavits from me and my mom! How emotionally draining it is to have to dredge up all those unpleasant memories - AGAIN. Anyway, it's done. Until we have to do the next one.
Last night I stayed in with Dan, made Hamburger Helper, drank some Cold Shots, and watched Roller Girls, among other things. Uneventful evening.
Today he called me, and it looks like his grandmother, who has lived with him and his family all his life, is being put in a nursing home tomorrow. She is going senile, and has become increasingly forgetful, hostile, paranoid, and at one point nearly burned the house down when she started a fire in the kitchen, after turning on an element that had a dishcloth on it. She accuses the family of stealing from her, and gets very loud and mean. I've heard about this happening before, to elderly people. They become a different person. His mother is afraid to leave her alone in the house. So Dan is really sad, because she's always been there, but he knows it has to be done. I think if he could afford to quit his job to stay home and look after her, he would. :(
He's going home tonight to spend time with her, and coming over later in the evening, to help get his mind off it.
Anyway, maybe I'll toddle back up here later and post something else.
Bye for now!
PS- I just heard that Dana Reeve, wife of the late Christopher Reeve, died yesterday of lung cancer. They had a 13 year old son, and I can't imagine losing both your parents within an 18 month period. I hope he has a ton of support...
