Yesterday was almost the best day of my entire life...

Rockford Competition

So we performed our show and I was a little upset about how it started out.. the whole tear thing, but the rest went amazing... it kind of evened out.  I played my solo the best I have ever played it and it was amazing.  Afterwards, we went to the clinic, and were told we were great except for marching and intervals.  okay, sure we knew that.  Then we watched the tape.  I wanted to run over and give Katie a hug... She plays her solo so well.  I had never heard it before then.  So afterwards I did.  But the show looks pretty good... other than some random holes the open and close.  (ee).  But then we stood outside and they were like "that was pretty good.. blah blah two weeks left... blah blah.."  went to watch the competition.

The last two were okay.  I guess.  I wasnt that impressed, they had some cool things.  They were large.  I spose I liked the last one.. with the phantom show.  Although it was just that, the phantom show.

So the host guy wastes some time for the tabulators to tabulate.  and here come the scores.  I brace myself for... third place like usual
with a score of 46.something.... MCHENRY HIGH SCHOOL
oh my god... could it be SECOND PLACE?
With a score of 48.something.... MARENGO HIGH SCHOOL
At which point you can guess we went wild, which sounded a lot like we were cheering for Marengo, but I dont think any of us could help it... we were excited.  holy fuck were we excited. and finally...
With a score of 51.00.... HUNTLEY HIGH SCHOOL

we three pointed them.  In addition we won best percussion AND best colorguard.

Thats right, we swept Division A competition.  It almost felt like we had just won first place in the nation or something.  So on the way back to the bus, what do we do... we did what we had to....

We sang "Hey Baby"  all the way back.

The ride home was also amazing, with the singing (Baricle Bill, Lord Byron, random cheering, Fall Out Boy, and the Song that Never Ends... (umm.. it did end)) and um.. everything.  And apparently I was the biggest skank on the bus, but its okay cus chris was a skank with me.  Best bus ride ever... and its alllllllll on camera.

So in conclusion:
Dear band class of '06, I love you all, and THIS IS THE WAY TO GO OUT.
Dear my section, (not that any of you read this)... amazing. thank you.
Dear rest of the band, lets keep this up.
