weekendness

For the sake of boredom and the fact I actually had a fun weekend worth mentioning, I am updating yet again. For like the 4th day in a row the weather SUCKS and is most likely affecting my mood and not helping at work. This fall is way different than last year. I remember lots of sunny days and brilliant colors. I hope we get some sun before this wind and rain knocks ALL the leaves down!

Didn’t have internet most of this weekend cuz my Gram shut off my bro’s whole comp and so the cable wasn’t on. And computer savvy me, had NO clue how to get that going again, oops. But now I’m finally back online!

Well anywho, so this weekend was wonderful despite the constant drizzle and dreariness. Roger got up here around 3 Saturday and I had fresh apple crisp ready for him. (hint hint: anyone who wants fresh YUMMY apple crisp is welcome to come visit and I’ll GLADLY make it! ;) And that was yummy and I love feeding him after his long and foodless trips. Then we couldn’t decide if it was worth going up to Homecoming or not. Josh and Em ended up going and wanted to meet us there, so we drove up and actually had a great time. Saw Bob there unexpectedly and got to talk to him. Saw newly engaged Brandon and Rose and that was cool. Big Pete stopped by and that was fun goofing around with him. WE just chilled in the CC For a bit, and then went down to Biggies to get the Alumni pizza and wings dinner. Oh man that was good, the wings were WONDERFUL!  WE had a good time chatting it up and hanging out. Talked to some other people, including a nice chat with Jesse Orton. And then Josh and Em had a birthday party to go to and Roger and I headed to Gram’s. WE didn’t want to leave, we were really enjoying ourselves. There was no point in going to SPOT cuz it’s no longer anybody we know, but I heard it was really good. I tried to see the ladies at the library but neither of them were there that night. It was overall a worthwhile trip, and it was exciting that Roger and I were at Houghton for the first time ever, as a couple ;)

Sunday we got up and went shopping for Roger. He wanted me to help him buy some nice clothes cuz he really has none and has pretty much never shopped for himself. This was like the first time he’s ever been in a changing room! He’s either always gotten hand-me-downs, or his mom bought him stuff. So it was new and exciting for him, hehe. WE had a great time, I’m a good shopper with good taste and I helped him pick out three pairs of pants, and four shirts. He tried them all on and was so cute and good natured, hehe. And then…

it was HE that suggested we look at rings!!!!!!!! I had it in my mind and was kind of shy to ask him, but he came right out with it, and there’s like 6 jewelry stores in the mall, and we went to 4 of them. People were so eager to help us and in two of them we had me try on a bunch and look at different designs and even got a lesson in diamonds and their cut, color, and carat. I decided I like round and not bigger than 1 carat, or no smaller either, hehe. Nothing really grabbed my eye until the last place, where they had these wrap around wedding rings. Actually all the places had those and Roger and I at the time didn’t know what they were and thought they looked stupid. But they can be like two diamonds with nothing in the middle, but when they are put in next to the single stone engagement ring, they wrap right on either side of it, giving three diamonds and a really nice look. I’ve always wanted three diamonds, past, present, and future, and so I tried a 1 carat diamond on with two smaller wrap around diamonds wedding band and I LOVED it! So Roger got all that in writing, and the guy we talked to was very helpful and asked us all about ourselves and how we met and such. It was fun, and Roger did VERY well! I was worried he’d get all nervous and he was just fine and having as much fun as me! ;) And now the rest is up to him, hehe. I’m not worried, and he did say that the expense of a ring is a consideration and that it might take time. He asked me just how important the ring is to me, and it’s HUGELY important to me, I am a symbolic person, I like symbols and one of the greatest to me is the ring symbolizing our love and commitment. Once on, they will never come off. SO while I don’t expect an expensive ring, especially since what I do want isn’t all that expensive, I was honestly letting him know that it is very significant to me. So I know he will respect that and won’t just get any old ring that is the cheapest and whatever he ends up giving me, will be wonderful and highly significant 

Shopping was a blast, and we also went to Gander and stocked up on last minute hunting stuff. Watched the last half of the Bills game and that was fun, cuz they finally won of course, and against the Dolphins too ;) Then to Pizza Hut and Wally Word for yet more hunting stuff!

Monday I had to go to work and Roger fiddled with my bow and got me more arrows. Work actually went fast and I Flew home and Roger was making me dinner! He made yummy steak, fancy potatoes, and acorn squash. And all the while Gram was driving him crazy, hovering, criticizing EVERYTHING he did, fiddling with things the moment he turned his back, and overall being a pain. I told him welcome to my world every dinner! I was his hero apparently, heh. Dinner was good and then we relaxed and watched Monday night football. He meant to go but was tired and then it got to be too late. Oh darn, hehe. WE did go out spotlighting quick and saw a HUGE buck in the same field where I’ve now seen countless decent bucks and many big doe. It’s a clover field and I really should meet the owners and cozy up to them, cuz that’s a HOT spot. That buck had probably 10 points and knew it, he sure was strutting his stuff! It was awesome. Then Roger and I fell asleep watching the football game, woke up afterwards and I put him to bed and was exhausted myself. He left this morning, and now the weather matches my mood. Life’s so dull around my Gram’s house most days, I love having him here and we have so much fun. I am glad for work to get me out of that house. It’s becoming more and more oppressive there, if that’s possible. Once my brother gets a job, somebody’s gonna have to be hired to come in, and I’ll most likely have to get a second morning job. But I’ll cross that bridge when I get there.

Well less than an hour more to go at work and I actually have some stuff to do! Hoping the sun shines soon…
