High Blood Pressure Meds Question

I was recently prescribed the high blood pressure medication Lisinopril and Hydrochlorothiazide tablets USP 10mg / 12.5mg Has anybody here ever taken this medication? I ask because an acquaintance of mine told me that her grandmother started taking Lisinopril and a couple months later had to have her toes removed because of a side effect of this medication. I’m not sure what else her grandmother was taking but they’re adamant it was the Lisinopril. She says a doctor told her that they don’t have enough cases of injury to get the FDA to remove Lisinopril from the market because it’s still in the trial phase. (O_o)

The thing that's complicating my blood pressure is all the weight I put on lately, what I want to do is take a diet pill to get my weight down while a diet and exercise. Sadly I have PCOS and it’s harder to lose weight with just diet. Can any of you suggest (have taken) a diet pill for 30lb or so? Thanks!
