period pain.

Ok, so my girlfriend gets horrible period pain. As in, 1 day of vomiting, writhing, diarrhea, sweats, can't-speak kind of pain, then a couple of days of dull aches. Obviously, this is really disruptive and not good. If it falls on a day with commitments, there is no way she can do anything. At the moment she 'treats' it by taking as much codeine (with iboprufen) as possible (natural! Ha.) and hot baths. She used to have a bit of luck with raspberry leaf tea, but isn't able to keep anything down lately, and often throws up her codeine tablets too. I try to make her eat something with the tablets, but I'm not often successful. Every time she goes to a doctor they want to put her on the pill, which she doesn't want to be on (and is hopeless at remembering to take pills, which messes things up even more.) She doesn't use tampons during the worst of it, as it makes it more painful.
I have read through the memories here and have got some ideas. I'm hoping to come up with some kind of supplement regime for her which may help, and putting them in a daily pill box and possibly tattooing "TAKE YOUR PILLS" on my own forehead, in the hope that they'll get taken at least some of the time.
Here is what I'm thinking daily:
1. Evening Primrose Oil (I've had good results with this, though is it necessary to also take fish oil for a good balance of omega 3 and 6?)
2. Magnesium.
3. Calcium

And for symptoms:
1. Clary sage oil massage
2. Raspberry leaf tea (when she can keep it down.)
3. Heat

Does anyone have any further recommendations? I'd love for her to be able to at least semi-function during her period and not have to take so many painkillers. It has to be something easy for her (preferably that I can set up for her) because she refuses to think about it when she's not in pain, and can't when she is. She is also very skeptical about some natural stuff (won't touch things like homeopathy for example) so that rules out some things. She has a bit of a 'I wish the doctor would just give me morphine or something' kind of attitude.
