Chemical-Smelling Rug
I just moved into a new apartment, and my roommate has this great rug we want to put in the living room.
Unfortunately, the rug has a very strong chemical-y smell that we don't know how to get rid of. We've tried a green dry-cleaner, but the smell didn't go away. We have no idea what the fiber content of the rug is, so we're hesitant to try cleaners for fear of damaging it. We've had it sitting (unrolled) on our porch for almost two weeks, hoping it would air out the smell, but that doesn't seem to be working either.
Does anyone have any thoughts about what other methods we could use to get rid of the smell?
