Homemade Toothpaste

Feb 28, 2011 09:35

Hey guys,

I've been making my own toothpaste for about two months now. I've been tweaking the recipe here and there, but I can't get it just right. I'm stating to think I'm omitting an ingredient because my teeth are getting a little yellower and scuzzier. I switched back to commercial toothpaste for the time being.

I'm using baking soda, stevia, peppermint extract, and sometimes I make a cinnamon version in lieu of peppermint. I was told you can use baking soda on its own, but it's not recommended because of its abrasive texture. I want to add another ingredient because this recipe is not keeping my mouth very fresh. Can anyone point me in the right direction?
