I need some help from those who eat gluten free, please.
COOKWARE: Do I need to buy all new cookware, or it is acceptable to use my pots and pans (nonstick and stainless steel) as long as I run them through the dishwasher? What about nonstick bakeware, since it has had wheat flour baked in it many times? What about plastic spatulas and utensils (the black kind that are widely available), ceramic dishes, and normal silverware? (I know I have to avoid wooden utensils and cutting boards.) My family will continue to cook in and use these on foods that contain gluten, but I'm hoping I can use them for my foods as long as they've been through the dishwasher first. What do you all do?
TEAS: do you think plain black and green teas are okay, or must they specify gluten free? What brands of tea are gluten free?
TOOTHPASTE: Can you recommend your favorite toothpastes appropriate for a gluten free diet?
OILS: Must I worry about gluten in virgin olive oil, butter, sunflower oil, or coconut oil?
FOODS: Can I assume the following are gluten free (when the label doesn't specify and says only the one ingredient): cans of coconut milk, white rice (processed fast cook), brown rice, sea salt, raw nuts, dried fruits, dried herbs, packages of yeast for baking?
Any other tips, foods you learned about the hard way, etc. would be so appreciated.
