Febreeze smell

I obtained a oversized chair and ottoman from my grandparents. Unfortunately, my Grandma is the queen of Febreeze. It's not smelling up the whole house luckily, but if you sit on it, you definately smell it. Chemicals and odors bother me a lot so I'm wondering what's the best thing to use to get rid of the smell? I've tried baking soda, but it doesn't seem to be doing much. Not sure if it's worth doing it a number of times, or if I should try something else. Any tips?
