GRRRRRRRRRRRROWL!

Ok, I have pet peeeves, doesnt everyone? But the #1 pet peeve for me is car issues. So guess what? I have car issues. For the past few days, my car has only wanted to start about every time out of 3 tries. Yesterday at lunch it wouldnt even do that. So, I get back to work (Thanks Nancy) and since it was in a safe place, I wasnt too concerned. Donna dropped me off at home and after dinner, Destiny and I went to go see if we could get it started. Nope. So Desty got into the driver's seat and I pushed so we could park it on the street instead of the private parking where it was. (read: I dont want my car towed by Comcast Cable) After listening to Destiny making 'beep beep' and 'vroooooom' noises, we got the car parked safely and tried again to start it. Still nope. So we headed home.

Today I called the mechanic. After towing my car to the shop the STUPID thing starts. Repeatedly. WTF?! So we talk and he says, well, you can come get it, its starting, but I would advise you to get it in for a tune up in the next few months or so, the belts are looking worn. So I thought about this. And I asked him if he could just do the tune up now. I have to drive 800 miles home in two weeks and would rather not be in Middle-of-Nowhere-Idaho and have it break down. I asked him to do an oil change while he was at it. He agrees its probably needed and said he would call me back to let me know what is going on.

About 20 mins ago, he called. It seems that my ignition rotor is worn, the distrubtor cap is going, the spark plugs were shot and the wires are also bad. Hrm, do ya think this could be why it isnt starting?! To make a long story short, for a major tune up (i.e. fixing the above plus replacing belts and blah), the oil change, and the towing costs, I am not looking at a $200 mechanic bill. Thankfully it is only $200, and even more thankfully I have an honest mechanic, but STILL!!!! I HATE CAR ISSUES!!!!
