Well, after a not so great Thursday night, I was dragged out by Kelli on
. Her words at 4:30 when she called were "Be ready at 6, I will be there to pick you up and I am driving, and YOU are not going home until you are genuinly happy." Well alrighty, then. So I get home at 5:40 and beeline for the phone to call her and buy myself an hour. She compromised by saying she would just come over and wait for me at my house. I think that roughly translated into "You are not getting out of this." So she shows up and proceeds to follow me around making sure I am not getting too distracted. So I get all dolled up and we head out.
We start with drinks at La Hacinda. As we are sitting there, drinking margaritas and flirting with a couple of guys next to us, I happen to look over my shoulder and see one of the executives I work for walk in. Great. I work very hard and looking like I am not the party animal of the bank. My image has been blown. The smirking I got this morning when he walked in confirmed that.
After we finished up there, we headed down to JB's where I run into Dan, who happens to be one of my delivery guys from our printing company. He is there with his biker gang. Um ok. Nice people, and before I could finish one drink, another was being put into my hand. That group ended up leaving early. So Kelli and I find a quiet table outside and look over and there is this HOTTIE!! sitting all by himself. So Kelli goes over and drags him to our table. His name is Tyler. Tyler is just out of the Navy after serving 6 years and now a nuclear engineer major at Chico State. And his present to himself for surviving those 6 years is this beautiful, sleek, black Harley. Oh yes, I will be riding that bike before this ends. Well he had meet up with some of his friends at Moxi's (no clue about this place) and Kelli and I headed over to La Salles.
Some punk band, Red with Envy, was playing. Why I agreed to go in, I still dont know, but we went to the back bar where it isnt so loud and when we sat down, the bartenders traded shifts. The new one was beyond yummy. So my type. So let the flirting begin. Ordered our drinks and he served them with a wink. Then he started serving us Kazi shots. About this time Kelli decides she wants to play pool. Well the girl has skills, but not on the pool table. There was NO way she was going to take the table from anyone. So instead she batted her pretty little eyes at the guys on the table and next thing I know we are playing doubles. They were nice enough, way too young for me, but oh well. But they did make a point to help keep me happily drunk. At one point, I decided I needed to go flirt some more with the bartender. In classic Heather style, when he said, "Hi Sweetheart, what can I do to serve you?" I replied with "A couple more shots and your phone number." He blushed, wrote down his number, gave me the shots and we drank them together. He also did a great job of rescuing me from some 21 year old that decided I was meant to be his sex kitten for the night. On his break, he came and sat with me, and played with one of the curls in my hair. The kid got the hint and left me alone, thinking I was with the bartender. Sometime after he went back behind the bar, Tyler showed up again. I have to admit, I felt like a kid in the candy store. MMMMM. So he hung out with us for a while, wrangled my phone number out of me, with a promise to call tonight (Monday), before his friends dragged him over to the Riff Raff.
About 1, I was done. So Kelli took me home, after the bartender walked me to the door and told me to come back on Sat night. I had to decline, knowing I would be too hung over. He laughed and said, "Ok, next weekend then. I hope I see you again." Aww, what a sweetheart he is. I really wish I could remember his name. All he wrote on the napkin was the number and an 'S'. I am thinking it was Shawn, but it could have been Scott. I suppose I better go back in and find out. :)
Saturday, I somehow managed to drag myself out of bed and down to the farmer's market with Nancy at 8:00 am. Then we went to breakfast and then some shopping for Donna's birthday. Saturday night, Donna came over and we talked about men, work, clothes, going to England, all that fun stuff until after 3:00 am.
Sunday I got up, took Scott to pick up Bryan's plane ticket at the airport, went to the grocery store and then home to clean. Shellie showed up for a few minutes to leave me the garage door opener and we hung out for an hour or so, just catching up. Destiny got in about 5 or so, so we unpacked her and got her settled in her room before heading over to Scotts for Easter dinner. Due to too many people being around, we ended up going to Kelli's and hanging out by the pool for a while, playing with the kids and relaxing. Got home, reassured Desty that its ok to be nervous on the first day and watched Finding Nemo.
All in all, it was a good weekend. One I needed terribly.
I hope everyone else had a Happy Easter!!
