because I do anything except sleep.
Here I am, stealing internet from a neighbor as promised. Danny and I finally got settled enough to have date night. He made amazing pasta with ny strip and I made salad and we had a picnic where the dining table will eventually be. Afterwards we split up the dishes and went to see DCI quarterfinals. Although it was in a movie theater, I did not expect any typical movie drama, but George Hopkins proved us all wrong!
What a nut that man is. In my opinion Crown was the most creative and I genuinely enjoyed the whoollleee thing. And BD better win.
I always realize a day too late that I’m just PMSing (and not that the world is ending), so yesterday was a miserable day for my father and Danny. Some positive things came out of the horribly overdramatic talk with Danny, but no amount of crying will keep my dad from moving to another country, so my roommates and I drowned all our drama in a huge bottle of wine. And then Yuengling and then some Gogol Bordello and then some greens. Actually getting bud last night turned into an adventure, we made new friends, Haitian-packed the car and Christina even harassed the poor architecture kids in studio that were pulling an all-nighter.
My room is finally all green! The main wall is “thyme” and the other three are “asparagus.” Tomorrow night my parents arrive to spend the weekend here and make my room pretty for real by hanging things and putting the right things in the right places.
So I obviously love the apartment. We all got so lucky that so many people just gave things to us, especially the decked out living room. The girls have taken Danny in as the 4th roommate and he has deemed himself Kahlo’s godfather. Kahlo is the most beautiful kitty ever.
I was called in to work today to discuss fall semester and ended up working for a while, it was a bit crazy since finals are going on. And of couuuuuurse the second I pack up my things and set one foot outside the office, the designated PSYCHO professor of the day makes his phone call. Not bitching though, office drama is so funny and getting promoted is just lovely.
