I have to get a new garage door because, first, it didn't open all the way, then it wouldn't open at all, thereby holding
caorann's car hostage all day. The handyman found all sorts of things wrong with it (springs, the door itself, the frame, etc.) until it made sense to just get a new one. That will be installed tomorrow.
Then there were the
exploding manholes that almost decapitated a motorist and did knock out my power for almost 5 hours. During which time I could have done all sorts of things that did not require electricity, like unload the dryer and dishwasher, but instead I read the November issue of the hardcopy
Copyediting newsletter and played around with my laptop.
I have watched two episodes of Human Target and I'm afraid my interest in Jackie Earle Haley is just not enough for me to watch a restricted location action show in which I find the lead totally uninteresting and the writing smugly (and incorrectly) secure that the characters are amazingly interesting men of shadowy backgrounds. David Nykl in episode 2 was of course adorable.
In other news, what would you call a production of Hamlet that included vampires as characters and as actors? How about
Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Undead.
BTW, I am now the proud owner of a
rabbit corkscrew. The color scheme for my kitchen may have been found. Let the good times roll!
